INDIANAPOLIS – Members of the Lion track team traveled to Warren Central High School Thursday for the IHSAA regional. Rushville had a total of 15 athletes qualify for the regional.
Senior Keith Hallgarth finished fifth overall in pole vault clearing 13-4 with John King also competing. Nick Lawler competed in the discus finishing 16th with a throw of 95-8.
Senior Trey Cain finished 13th in the 100 with a time of :11.31 while senior Zack Wood finished 15th in the 200 with a time of :23.76.
In the 800, Isaac Lawrence and Ethan Chastain both ran season best times to finish 10th and 12th overall in 2:02 and 2:05 respectively.
Andrew Miller and Kyle Stanley took 10th and 15th in the 1600 with times of 4:43 and 4:57.
Cole Dixon placed 14th in the 3200 with a time of 10:52.
The 4x100 team of Tyreke Carr, Casey Smith, Zack Wood, and Trey Cain finished 11th with a season best time of :45.23.
The 4x400 team of Carter Tague, Chastain, Lawrence, and Cain finished 15th in 3:42.
The 4x800 team of Guy Herrington, Sam Sterrett, Keith Bacon, and Nick Innis finished 16th with a time of 9:34.
“The competition at this meet is really outstanding and it is really great for us to be able to compete in this type of environment. To have so many guys qualify to compete in the regional is excellent and helps the younger guys understand the highest level of performance. I am very proud of all the guys this season. They really did a very good job of working hard and competing well all season,” Coach Jim Marlatt said.
