Lions place 6th at golf sectional

Rushville's Caleb Jessup carded a (43-46) 89 at the IHSAA Sectional held at Forest Hills Country Club in Richmond.

RICHMOND – The Lion golf team traveled to the tough course at Forest Hills Country Club in Richmond for the IHSAA Sectional on Monday.

The Lions fired a team total 396 to place sixth overall.

Host Richmond won the sectional title with a score of 329. Union County finished second with 338 and Centerville was third with 352. Northeastern finished fourth with 353 followed by Connersville 391, Rushville 396, Franklin County 414, Tri 428, Cambridge City Lincoln 444 and Hagerstown 452.

Richmond’s Jake Miller earned meet medalist honors with a 71.

Caleb Jessup led the way for the Lions with a (43-46) 89.

Grant Hill was next for the Lions with (48-49) 97.

Logan Hornaday finished with (53-50) 103.

Hunter Jones carded a (54-53) 107 and Devin Richardson finished with (65-63) 128.
