CONNERSVILLE – The Lady Lion track team competed in the IHSAA track sectional at Connersville on Tuesday. The host Lady Spartans won the sectional championship with 150.5 points.

Rushville finished second with 128.5 followed by Hagerstown 73, Centerville 73. Richmond 61, Union County 46, Cambridge City Lincoln 27, Tri 26, Northeastern 19 and Seton Catholic 11.

The top three finishers in each event advance to the regional at Shelbyville next week.

Rushville’s Charity Griffith qualified by taking first in the 200, 400, high jump and long jump.

Maddi Turner qualified for the regional by taking first in the 300 hurdles and second in the 100 hurdles.

Other regional qualifiers included Dougherty in the 800; Krodel in the 300 hurdles; the 4x400 relay team of Dougherty, Krodel, Wanger and Turner; Katie Yeend in the pole vault; and the 4x800 relay team of Yeend, S. Stanley, Adkins and Dougherty.

Isabella Runnebohm took fifth in the shot put with a personal best 33-1. She also took fourth in the discus with a personal best 102-5.

Brittney Kuhn had a personal best 30-7.5 for eighth in the shot put.

Cassidy Tellas jumped 13-5.25 in the long jump.

In the pole vault, Hadley took fourth.

Wanger finished sixth in the high jump with a height of 4-6. She finished seventh in the 400 with a time of 1:08.10.

The 4x100m team of Romero, Stanley, Grimme, Morris took seventh in :57.24.

Krodel was fifth in the 100 hurdles in :17.57.

In the 3200, Meza ran a time of 12:48.83 to take fifth place. She finished seventh in the 1600 with a time of 5:58.29.

Yeend finished seventh in the 800 in 2:41.86.
