SHELBYVILLE – Warren Central captured the regional title at the girls track regional Tuesday at Shelbyville.
Rushville senior Charity Griffith earned a return trip to the IHSAA state finals in the high jump with her third place finish. Griffith will compete in the state finals on June 1 at the Robert C. Haugh Track & Field Complex at Indiana University in Bloomington.
The 4x800 team consisting of Yeend, S.Stanley, Adkins, and Meza placed 16th overall running a time of 11:27.
In the 100 hurdles, Maddi Turner finished sixth in :16.54. In the 300 hurdles, Turner ran a time of :47.88 to place seventh.
Lily Krodel also ran a personal best of :49.42 in the 300 hurdles.
In the 800, Shannon Dougherty finished 11th with a time of 2:29.
The 4x400 team consisting of Krodel, Dougherty, Turner, Griffith took 10th in 4:19.
“The girls did an outstanding job as some competed for the last time and others are just beginning their careers. The seniors left a legacy that the younger girls will take with them through the years,” Hannah Augsburger noted.
