Here is a wrap-up from Lion baseball over the past several games.

Connersville Series

The Lions lost leads of 3-0 and 5-3 late, dropping game one of the series with Connersville. Aaron Duncan suffered the loss on the hill (5 IP, 5 hits, 6 runs, 4 earned runs). Duncan and Cameron Craig had two hits to lead the offense. Tyler Wilson had a two-run triple and Adam Sizemore added a single.

Connersville also took game two by an 8-4 final. The Spartans scored four runs in the top of the seventh to account for the final score. Tyler Wilson lasted six innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out nine. Tyce Carroll also pitched in the contest. Gage Rosenfeld led the offense with a double and a home run. Cameron Craig, Aaron Duncan, and Duncan Draper also added hits.

Cambridge City

Rushville’s offense exploded for 15 hits and 8 runs against the visiting Eagles in an 8-4 win. Jacob Carroll tossed five frames to pick up the win. He allowed six hits and two earned runs. Adam Sizemore picked up a save in an inning of relief. Aaron Duncan led the offense with three singles and two runs batted in. Tyce Carroll doubled. Hayden Walls, Tyler Wilson, and Gage Rosenfeld all hit triples.

Batesville (Game 1)

Batesville took advantage of some defensive mistakes and extra base runners to post an 8-2 victory over the Lions. Aaron Duncan suffered the loss on the hill (5 IP, 4 ER, 4 strikeouts). Gage Rosenfeld hit his fifth home run of the season to drive in both Lion runs. Mason Springman added a double and two singles.


Jacob Carroll picked up his second win of the season on the mound, going four innings and allowing three runs (two earned). Brother Tyce Carroll pitched the final three frames to pick up his second save in Rushville’s 6-4 victory. Springman led the offense with a single, double, and triple. Adam Sizemore added a double and a single. Tyce Carroll, Cameron Craig, and Aaron Duncan all added two singles each.

Junior Varsity

Monday night, the Lions junior varsity baseball team took on Batesville and lost 19-3. The Lions had several players pitch in the game including Ben Grote, Kaiden Gabbard, John Alexander, Conner Waller, Luke McKee, and Hayden Walls.

The Lions offense got a 2-RBI single from Walls and a single from Jacob Carroll. Luis Lopez walked and scored a run in the game.
