NEW PALESTINE – The Lady Lion softball team squared off against Indian Creek (9-13) in the IHSAA softball sectional at New Palestine on Wednesday.

Indian Creek advanced to the sectional final by virtue of a 5-2 victory over the Lady Lions. Rushville end the season at 8-15.

Kendra Hamilton led the Lady Lion offense by going 2-for-3 with a home run.

Jama Barnes, Kara Chandler, Betsy Muir (home run) and Grace Muir all had a hit for Rushville.

Chandler took the loss in the circle, allowing five runs on seven hits.

Rushville 10, Hagerstown 0

In the regular season finale, Rushville knocked off Hagerstown behind Kara Chandler’s no-hitter in the circle. She finished with nine strike outs.

At the plate, Chandler was 2-for-3 with four RBIs. Barnes went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs. Maddie Kuhn went 1-for-2 with two walks and Hamilton was 2-for-4 with a home run.
