The Benjamin Rush Cross Country teams hosted an invitational on Saturday.

In boy’s action, the Cubs won with 31 points. Doe Creek was second with 58 followed by Mt. Vernon 64, Centerville 109, Brookville 145, Wes Del 148, Eastern Hancock 211 with North Decatur, South Decatur and Tri incomplete.

Rushville’s Nolan Laird won the 1.86-mile race in 11:23.

Also for the Cubs was Seth Ruji third (11:54), Adam Nickel sixth (12:00), Matt Williams ninth (12:14), Joas Knepp 12th (12:36), Josh Hoeing 17th (13:12) and Justin Wilson 18th (13:13).

In girl’s action, South Decatur won with 50 points followed by Mt. Vernon 61, Doe Creek 70, BRMS 100, Centerville 119, Eastern Hancock 134, North Decatur 168, Tri 170 with Brookville and Wes Del incomplete.

Courtney Edon from Doe Creek won the race in 12:15.

For the Lady Cubs, Janna Green was eighth (13:28), Laura Hoeing 17th, Andrea Cloud 21st, Bekah Miller 26th, Katie McConnell 28th, Hannah Bates 42nd and Anicia Getz 56th.

In the reserve race, Brandon Plough finished an excellent third (13:06) followed by Eric Barton fourth, Dustin Mount ninth, Ryan Edwards 10th, Levi Yager 13th, Andrew Lavenski 15th, Will Sickbert 18th and Zack Dorrel 25th.

The BRMS boy’s team record is a perfect 12-0 and the girls move to 8-4. The Cubs travel to Greensburg for a competition today.
