The Rush County Community Foundation is proud to highlight three funds each week as a way of educating the citizens of Rush County of the many ways the Foundation touches their lives. This week the three

highlighted funds all benefit the students at Rushville Consolidated High School by either helping a specific department or awarding students for their scholastic achievement.

The "Roy Waggener Family Fund" was established on Dec. 15, 1994 by the late Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Mullin. The proceeds from this fund will provide financial support to the Rushville Consolidate High School Music Department with a portion designated to support the Madrigal Singers as long as that group exists. When the fund was established Mullin said "My love of music began when I was a student at Rushville

High School."

The "Wall Family Memorial Fund" was established Dec. 14, 1995 by Lisa Wall Winship, along with her sisters Margo Wall Mull and Deda Wall Whitaker and their mother, Maxine Wall Kuhn, to honor the memory of Weldon E. Wall and Dennis C. Wall. The proceeds from this fund will provide financial support specifically to the Agri-Science Department of Rushville Consolidated High School with that department's head determining the best use of the proceeds.

The "Varsity Scholar Fund" was established on Aug. 4, 1994. The founding contributors were Barada Associates, Herdrich Petroleum, Curtis Brothers Furniture, Rush County REMC (now RushShelby Energy), Jean Ann Harcourt and Terry Showalter. Proceeds from this fund provides support to the Varsity Scholar Awards Program at Rushville Consolidated High School. At the time the fund was established Bill Herdrich said

"I thought that establishing the fund in the RCCF would help ensure the future of the Varsity Scholar Awards at the high school."
