Together WE Can, an event to benefit Brian’s Cause Cancer Treatment Relief Fund is quickly approaching on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the RushShelby Energy Building on the grounds of the Rush County Fairgrounds. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. and conclude by 9 p.m.

Recognizing and honoring those in our community who are cancer patients and cancer survivors is the highlight of the event. Cancer patients and survivors are free to attend and receive a free gift, meal, and special recognition. All local cancer patients and survivors are invited to attend and are asked to register by emailing, calling 932-7568, or online at through the event page.

New this year, the Together We Can event will feature a family friendly glow walk through South Memorial Park, silent auction, and a community gathering space for cancer patients, survivors, and families to reflect on their cancer journey, remember those lost, and provide support to those currently undergoing cancer treatment. The community is invited to come glow with us at the event and prizes will be give out to the team who raises the most money, the team with the best “GLOW” outfits, and the individual with the best “GLOW.”

A registration fee of $25 includes the walk, meal, long- sleeve event shirt, and donation to the cause. Interested community members can register online at or at the event. Desired shirt sizes are only guaranteed for those who register by Sept. 20.

All monies raised stay local. Since July of 2018, Rush Memorial Hospital Foundation through the Brian’s Cause Cancer Treatment Relief Fund has distributed $25,250 in funding to local cancer patients.

Join us on Saturday, Oct. 5, as Together WE Can give to our local cancer patients in financial need.
