Rushville Public Library now offers hotspot loan service

Pictured is one of the Wi-Fi hotspots the Rushville Public Library will loan to library cardholders.

The Rushville Public Library is kicking off a new, very cool service this week. Beginning Aug. 21, the library will start circulating T-Mobile hotspots.

The library has four hotspots to circulate. They will loan for one week (7 days) with no renewal. Only adults with an adult library card (and in good standing) will be able to check out the hotspots. Adults must reside in Rush County and must be able to provide a photo ID along with their Rushville Public Library adult card.

The Rushville Public Library’s T-Mobile Hotspots are user-friendly and can be used by everyone in the household. Users can connect via Wi-Fi in order to search the Internet, apply for jobs, do school work, play games, etc. Some other libraries that loan hotspots report that people take them on vacation so they can access the Internet while on the road.

Hundreds of libraries across the US loan hotspots. The Rushville Public Library staff and board are excited and pleased to start this innovative public service.

Rushville Public Library Director Sue Prifogle said, “Loaning hotspots is a new and progressive venture for our library. We are thrilled to provide this unique service to our library patrons.”
