The annual Davis-Purdue Agricultural Field Day will be held on Thursday, Aug. 29, at the Davis-Purdue Agricultural Center (DPAC) in Farmland. This is an excellent opportunity for farmers to receive current information about corn and beans, get credits for their private or commercial applicators license, and get a free meal, according to Will Schakel, Ag Program Assistant with the Rush County Extension Office.
DPAC is located on State Road 1 north of Farmland. Fred Whitford, Bill Johnson, Bob Nielsen, and Shaun Casteel will all be making presentations. Topics will include hitch pins, weed management, and corn and soybean updates. As a bonus, an optional forest management tour and drone presentation will be available in the afternoon.
The field day and meal are free, but you are encouraged to call in your reservation at 765-584-2271 to ensure adequate food. If you have further questions, please call the Rush Co. Extension Office at 765-932-5974.
