Date changed for July's children immunization clinic

The Rush County Health Department recently announced a change of the children’s immunization health clinic originally slated for the first Monday of July.

Due to July 4 holiday being the first Monday of July, the clinic will take place 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. the following Monday (July 11) in Room 105 in the courthouse. The county health office is located on the lower level of the courthouse near the east side entrance.

It is requested that a child’s record of previous immunizations be brought and updated. The immunizations are offered free of charge to individuals currently on Medicaid or those uninsured. Children less than the age of 18 are required to have a parent or guardian sign permission forms for each child receiving immunizations.

In other unrelated health department news, county health department office manager and environmentalist Julia Apple is seeking to make changes to the department’s webpage. According to Apple, a number of strides have been made in recent months as a means to timely update the page with events and news to better inform Rush County residents on health issues and as a result the number those visiting the webpage has shown a substantial increase.
