Former Rushville Consolidated High School basketball player and graduate Craig Moore got to light up the nets during half-time of a recent Indiana Pacers game at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Originally from Milroy, Moore, a 1995 RCHS graduate, was one of the Lions’ best all-time three-point shooters during his high school hoops career. According to RCHS athletic director Dave Green, Moore still holds the single season three point field goal record at the school.

“During the 1994-1995 season Craig hit 58 of his three-point shots during the 21-game season,” Green said.

Thanksgiving evening Moore and his family attended the Indiana Pacers/Cleveland Cavaliers basketball game. He was chosen to try his shooting skills during the half-time intermission. Moore was given 45 seconds to shoot from behind the three point arc and for each shot made he received a $100 gift certificate, with the understanding that a bonus of $250 would be given after he successfully made his fifth shot.

According to Moore’s wife, Misty, the balls were not placed on a rack as is done during the three-point shoot out competition held during the NBA All-Star competition; a rebounder had to throw the ball back to Moore after each shot attempt.

“With two seconds left Craig nailed his fifth trey,” Misty said.

Holding true to his high school hoops ability, Craig hit five shots in the allotted time and claimed a $750 prize.

Moore’s wife said the family had a good time on “Black Friday” using the gift certificates at a nearby shopping center.
