The state Tri Kappa organization is offering a variety of $1,000 scholarships. Scholarship chairman Kara Scheidler of Rushville currently is seeking applicants. Deadline to apply is Tuesday. Call Scheidler at 938-1195.

Any full-time student currently enrolled in a baccalaureate or graduate program and has complete one year may apply. Awards will be based on academic achievement, strong goals, extracurricular activities, work experience and volunteer service.

Two Key scholarships will be offered to students who have no previous degrees and have not been in school for at least five years. Two Fine Arts scholarships will be awarded to students majoring in art, dance, drama or music. The Twanette Nutter Fleming Music Award is a scholarship which stipulates the applicant must be enrolled in a fully accredited course of study leading to a degree to teach music in a public school.

Phi chapter of Tri Kappa is offering local scholarships.

A vocational scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior who plans to attend a vocational school. Applications are available in the guidance office at Rushville Consolidated High School. One more scholarships will be given with a total of $2,000 being given. Deadline is April 17.

The $1,000 Jackie Messer Continuing Education Memorial Scholarship is awarded to someone who has had an interrupted education. Applications are available in the guidance office at Rushville Consolidated High School. Deadline is April 17.
