The Richland Farmers and Farmerettes 4-H Club held a meeting on Thursday, Jan. 9, at the New Salem Lions Club.

Cora Owens called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. with 41 members answering roll. Also in attendance were leaders Sue Herbert, Alan Amos, and Jonathan Holzback, as well as 14 parents and guests.

The American pledge was given by Sami Smith and the 4-H pledge was given by Courtney Jackman. The floor was then handed over to the leaders.

Sue introduced Jonathan Holzback as a new leader for the club. Alan then went over club rules and expectations.

Officers were then elected. The 2020 officers are: President – Cora Owens; Vice President – Sami Smith; Secretary – Elizabeth Amos; Treasurer – Courtney Jackman; Health and Safety Officer – Parker Wicker; News Reporter – Harrison Wicker; Historian – Ella Tressler; and multiple groups elected for Song and Recreation.

The members were then informed that the hog roast would be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 14 at the Lions Club.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m. to refreshments provided by the Richland 4-H Club.
