The Posey Pride 4-H Club met for the first meeting of 2020 on Jan. 5 at the Arlington Volunteer Fire Department.

The meeting was called to order by leader Abby Waits, due to last years officers all having been seniors who graduated. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Audrey Waits and the 4-H Pledge was lead by Joleigh Geise.

Roll call response was to introduce yourself and tell the group how many years you have participated in 4-H and what school you attend. There were 15 members present.

The Treasurer’s Report was given by leader Lucinda Smith. It was noted that the incoming treasurer, once elected, will need to meet Lucinda at the bank to also get their name placed on the checking account.

In new business, officer elections were held and the following members will be the 2020 officers for the club: President Joleigh Geise, Vice-President Jeremiah Geise, Treasurer Gabby Pavey, Secretary Claire Waits, News Reporter Sam Sterrett and Vice-Reporter Tucker Case.

Jeremiah Geise gave the Jr. Leader report. The group recently went to SkyZone for an outing and also participated helping serve the Thanksgiving Dinner that is prepared by Main Street Christian Church.

A demonstration sign-up sheet was passed around for members to complete. First year members are exempt from doing demonstrations. The group played two games, Dress the Snowman and Ring the Reindeer. The meeting was adjourned by Joleigh Geise and refreshments were enjoyed.

The next meeting will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 2 at Arlington Volunteer Fire Department.
