Peg Queener gave an interesting report on cemeteries, here and abroad, with tips for reading stones and the sharing of some amusing tombstone inscriptions. The Jewish Cemetery in Prague was one of Peg’s most interesting visits. Here is a small sample of humorous tombstone inscriptions:
“Dead from not forwarding that text message to 10 people”
“Walter loved to spend. He had no money at the end, but with many a whiskey and many a wife, he really did enjoy his life”
“I told you I was sick”
“The doctor will see you now”
“Ma loves Pa, Pa loves women. Ma caught Pa with two in swimmin’ now here lies Pa”
Peg did a wonderful job. She also mentioned there will be a special genealogy program at the Carnegie Library in Muncie from 1 to 4 p.m. June 15. Address is 301 E Jackson St, Muncie, no registration required.
Motion to adjourn by Barbara Lacy second by Vikki Witham. Thank you Peg for hosting.
