All clear is issued

RUSHVILLE —

An all clear has been issued for schools in Rush County and the Knightstown area following a lockdown Friday morning, according to police officers on the scene of the Rushville lockdowns. Watch for further updates.

A person of interest in Carthage was taken into custody shortly before noon according to police reports related to the lockdown of both Rush County Schools and schools throughout the Knightstown area.

All schools in Rush County and Knightstown were on lockdown Friday morning following a  'credible shooter threat.'

Police have also been posted at Rush County Schools.

Officials with the Charles A Beard School Corporation say all schools in the area were on lockdown Friday morning because law enforcement officials received a threat on Facebook.

The school corporation includes Knightstown High School, Knightstown Elementary and Knightstown Intermediate. South Henry Schools were also on lockdown for the same threat.

The lockdown was implemented as a precaution.
