FRIDAY (2/8)

l Free dance for middle school students sponsored by the Rushville City Parks Department, 6-8 p.m., BRMS gym. Free admission and refreshments.

l Christian Karaoke at the Knightstown Diner, 6-8 p.m., 12 E. Main St. Come join us for free family friendly karaoke.

SATURDAY (2/9)

l Small Steps to Health & Wealth™ Winter Challenge participants will gather for assessment and motivational opportunities.  Representatives from Rush Memorial Hospital Rehabilitation Services will be on hand to share tips for protecting our bodies as we strive to increase physical activity.  The program will start at 10:00 am at the Rush County Schools Administration Building, 330 W. 8th Street.  Assessments by the RMH Wellness Department will start at 9:45 am.  This session is open to the public.  For more information, contact Purdue Extension – Rush County at 932-5974.

l Euchre Tournament open to the public at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m., Phoenix Lodge #62, 328 N. Main St., Rushville. Each person can donate $10 or more to the new building fund. Drinks, chips and snacks provided. Prize for the winning team.

l Sausage gravy and biscuit breakfast from 6:30 to 10 a.m. at the Phoenix Lodge #62. $7 per person. Dine in all you can eat. Carry out available. This month features heart shaped biscuits made from scratch. Biscuits, sausage gravy, pancakes, scrambled eggs, juice, coffee or milk. Please come and join us for a good breakfast and fellowship. All welcome. We are located above the old Princess Theatre and there is an

elevator for those that need it, 328 N. Main St., Rushville.

l The regular monthly meeting of the Rush County Genealogical Society will be held at 11 a.m. at the Elks Lodge. As always, there will be victuals available afterwards. Hope to see you there.

MONDAY (2/11)

l Parents and family are invited to join in the Band Boosters which meets at 6 p.m. the second Monday of each month in the RCHS Band room. Families with middle school and high school band students are encouraged to come to meetings and be a part of the Band Booster program. Information: 765-561-3000.

TUESDAY (2/12)

l RCHS hosts FAFSA Night for assistance with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, 3:30-7 p.m.

WEDNESDAY (2/13)

l Rush County Health Department Senior Screening from 9 a.m. to noon at the Rush County Senior Center. Available to all Rush County senior citizens at no cost. Information: 932-3103.

FRIDAY (2/15)

l Rushville Boys and Girls Little League is sponsoring dances for K-6 and middle school students (and up) at the Rushville Elks. K-6 dance is 5:30 to 7 p.m. and the dance for middle school students and up is 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. $5 admission per child. Music by DJ Kevin Green.

l Rushville Church of Christ Ladies Group hosts a chili supper starting at 5 p.m. All are welcome. Free will offering. Menu includes hotdogs, chili, dessert and drinks, 627 W. 11th St.

SATURDAY (2/16

l Knights of Columbus Chicken Fry from 5 to 8 p.m. Adults $10 and children $6. Carryouts available. Menu includes: Chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, rolls, applesauce and cake. All white meat $1 extra. Open to the public. Information: 932-2277.

l Spaghetti Lunch/Fun Auction at noon at Center Christian Church Fellowship Hall, 9112 N 50 W, Knightstown. Please join the CenterFUGE & IGNITE youth for a fun auction & spaghetti dinner (free will donations accepted) to raise money for our mission trip to New Orleans over Spring Break 2013.

l NARFE will meet at 10 a.m. at Ponderosa Steakhouse in Greensburg with optional lunch following the meeting. If you are a retired federal employee or currently an active employee and have an interest in attending chapter meetings, join us at our meeting.

WEDNESDAY (2/20)

l The Rushville Music Study Club will meet at 7 p.m. Feb. 20 at the St Paul’s Methodist Church. Please note this is a change in the meeting date. Nancy Mitchell is the program chair and Donna Kuhn is the hostess. All members and associates are encourage to attend.

THURSDAY (2/21)

l “Know the 10 Signs,” a free workshop on detecting the warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease, will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Area 9 Agency on Aging, 520 S. 9th St., Richmond. The free session requires registration by contacting the Alzheimer’s Association at 800-272-3900.

l The Boys and Girls Club of Rush County hosts monthly dances for elementary school age children from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost is $3 per person. D.J. is Kevin Green. Proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club.

SUNDAY (2/24)

l Financial aid professionals will be volunteering at Ivy Tech Community College-Richmond in Johnson Hall and 40 other Indiana sites to help college-bound students and their families open the door to financial aid during College Goal Sunday, set for 2 p.m. Feb. 24. The free program is designed to assist Indiana students seeking undergraduate admission to a college or technical school in 2013 in filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is required for students to be considered for federal and state grants, loans and scholarships at most colleges, universities and vocational/technical schools nationwide and must be filed by March 10 to be eligible for state aid. l Manilla Town and Country Homemakers Club will celebrate its 50th Anniversary with dinner and a meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Kopper Kettle Restaurant in Morristown. Evonne Kuhn and Donna Kuhn are planning the event.

l There will be a benefit for Bill and Tina Bailey starting at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2 at the Rushville American Legion. This event is being sponsored by the American Legion Riders. The benefit gets started at 11 a.m. with a cornhole tournament ($10 entry fee). A fried chicken dinner will be served at noon (donations accepted). There will also be a 50/50 drawing, auction, and music by local DJ Kevin Green. To make a monetary donation or to donate something for the auction please call Carla Sharpe at 765-561-5080.

l The Boys & Girls Club of Rush County will now be open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

l The community food pantry, 109 East Third Street, Rushville is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. Bring photo ID. Donations welcomed.

l Alcoholics Anonymous meets each Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the Hoosier Gym in Knightstown. Use the east entrance at the corner of Adams and Locust streets. Information: 765-313-1637.
