FEBRUARY

FRIDAY (2/1)

l CD Single release party for the song, “What He Made of Me”, written and performed by Craig Moore, will be from 4-9 p.m. at The Park Restaurant in Mays. This is a change in location. The special at the restaurant will be Pan Fried Chicken. Feel free to dine in or carry out while purchasing your CD. Moore will be performing live throughout the evening. There will be volunteer waitresses for the evening. The CD Single with the song “What He Made of Me” will be for sale for $5. All proceeds from the sale of the CD along with the tips earned will be given to Melinda Dora and her family to help cover medical costs etc. The CD will also be available at the Park Restaurant in Rushville with Moore performing at the Mays location.

l The Gathering is hosting a free concert tonight from 6-7:30 p.m. As part of the “First Friday Night LIVE” concerts, the Michael Wilson Band from Connersville will be performing. This talented group is from New Heights Church. Everyone is invited. Stop by for coffee, good music and a great evening with friends. The Gathering, 245 N. Main, Rushville, is a free WiFi hot spot!

l The Boys and Girls Club of Rush County hosts monthly dances for elementary school age children from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost is $3 per person. D.J. is Kevin Green. Proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club.

l Youth T-Ball league registration for the upcoming 2013 season for four, five, six and seven year-old players. Applications can be picked up at the Rush County Boys & Girls Club between Feb. 1 and March 15. An electronic version of the application is also available this year by contacting Aaron Gurley. l Knights of Columbus Chicken Fry from 5 to 8 p.m. Adults $10 and children $6. Carryouts available. Menu includes: Chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, rolls, applesauce and cake. All white meat $1 extra. Open to the public. Information: 932-2277.

l Individuals in search of obtaining a Ham Operators license can contact Mike Elder to schedule an appointment for the Feb. 2 testing. Testing for each of the three levels: technician, general and extra are $15. The testing will be held in the lower level of the Rushville Public Library between 9 a.m. and 12 noon. l Chili Supper hosted by RCHS Business Professionals of America, open to the public, 4:30-7 p.m., RCHS Cafeteria, before the Lions Boys Basketball game against Batesville. Tickets $6 in advance from any BPA member or $7 at the door. Proceeds will help members attend and compete at the State Leadership Conference and an opportunity to advance to the National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Fla.

l Free dance for middle school students sponsored by the Rushville City Parks Department, 6-8 p.m., BRMS gym. Free admission and refreshments.

l RCP Fundraiser Dance, “A Love Story,” 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., at Rushville Elks. Dinner to start at 7:00pm and Dancing the night away with one of Rush Co. Finest Dj. There will be a Cash bar available. l Parents and family are invited to join in the Band Boosters which meets at 6 p.m. the second Monday of each month in the RCHS Band room. WEDNESDAY (2/13)

l Rush County Health Department Senior Screening from 9 a.m. to noon at the Rush County Senior Center. Available to all Rush County senior citizens at no cost. Information: 932-3103.

WEDNESDAY (2/20)

l The Rushville Music Study Club will meet at 7 p.m. Feb. 20 at the St Paul’s Methodist Church. Please note this is a change in the meeting date. Nancy Mitchell is the program chair and Donna Kuhn is the hostess. All members and associates are encourage to attend.

THURSDAY (2/21)

l “Know the 10 Signs,” a free workshop on detecting the warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease, will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Area 9 Agency on Aging, 520 S. 9th St., Richmond. The free session requires registration by contacting the Alzheimer’s Association at 800-272-3900.

l There will be a benefit for Bill and Tina Bailey starting at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2 at the Rushville American Legion. This event is being sponsored by the American Legion Riders. The benefit gets started at 11 a.m. with a cornhole tournament ($10 entry fee). A fried chicken dinner will be served at noon (donations accepted). There will also be a 50/50 drawing, auction, and music by local DJ Kevin Green. To make a monetary donation or to donate something for the auction please call Carla Sharpe at 765-561-5080.
