• The Heart of Rushville sponsoring Rush County’s Biggest Yard Sale on Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Riverside Park Amphitheater. The sale will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and sellers can start setting up as early as 7 a.m. Sellers must rent at least one table from the Heart of Rushville, at a cost of $5 per table, but they will be able to keep all of their sales proceeds. Although sellers cannot bring their own tables, they may bring one wardrobe rack, for each table rented. Tables are available on a first come-first serve basis. • The Rush County Genealogical Society will hold their monthly meeting beginning at 11 a.m., Sept. 14 at the Rushville Elks Lodge. Rush County historian Eleanor Arnold, will be presenting a program on the history of East Hill Cemetery, known to be one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the state. Arnold’s presentation will include photos as well as interesting facts about some of the individuals interred there.The public is invited to attend.
• Knights of Columbus Chicken Fry from 5 to 8 p.m. Adults $10 and children $6. Carryouts available. Menu includes: Chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, rolls, applesauce and cake. All white meat $1 extra. Open to the public. Information: 932-2277.
• Phoenix Lodge #62 will hold a community breakfast from 6:30 to 10 a.m. at the Masonic Building located on Main Street above the old Princess Theatre. Cost is $7 and includes: Sausage patties, biscuits, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, and pancakes. There is an elevator for those that need it to get upstairs. We hope that all will come out and enjoy this time of good food and fellowship.
