• The Manna Mission free meal will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27 at Main Street Christian Church. We will be serving smoked sausage, potatoes, green beans, corn bread, desserts and drinks. Carry-out and eat-in meals available.

• Need Shoes? Come to Changing Footprints Warehouse from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at 310 Julian St., Rushville. If you have shoes to donate, they can be dropped off during these hours also. Contact: 317-296-3627 or ruth.houk@changingfootprints.com

• Come to The Gathering from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29 for a free clothing give away. The Gathering is at 245 North Main Street, Rushville. Fall and winter clothing for adults and children.

• Don't be a victim: Protect yourself from scams and identity theft, a free consumer protection presentation from the Office of the Indiana Attorney General will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor. This event is free and open to the public.

FRIDAY (8/30)

• Mark your calendars now to support the band program at RCHS by attending the Band Boosters Annual Fish Fry before the first Rushville Lions home football game vs. New Castle. The Fish Fry will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, in the RCHS Cafeteria. Tickets are $6 in advance and $7 at the door and are available from any RCHS band student or at the door. Carry outs available. Menu includes: Fish tail sandwich (hot dogs available), cheesy potatoes or macaroni & cheese, applesauce or cole slaw, dessert and drink. A portion of the ticket sales will go into the band student accounts and can be used by students to help with expenses for band trips or for band equipment and supplies they may need to maintain their instruments throughout the year.
