l Tox-away Days are the first Saturday of each month from 8 a.m. to noon at Smiley Avenue.

l Labor Day

TUESDAY (9/4)

l F.I.T. Walkabouts visits the Nature Center. Meet at the Boys & Girls Club of Rush County, 1590 N. Sexton Street, at 9 a.m. to walk to the Nature Center and explore its hidden treasures.

THURSDAY (9/6)

l F.I.T. Walkabouts meet at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 6 at the intersection of Spencer and Second Streets to walk through Laughlin Park.

SATURDAY (9/8)

l The Rushville Parks Department will sponsor the Second Annual Gospel Sing beginning at 6 p.m. at Rushville Riverside Park Amphitheater. This year's Gospel Sing will honor the military, first responders and the medical field. Many local and regional singers and musicians will be featured. Bring picnic baskets, lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy an evening of Gospel Sing. Information: Rushville Park Department at 932-4146.

l Every other month the Phoenix Lodge No. 62 F&AM hosts an all you can eat breakfast. The breakfast is 6:30 to 10 a.m., Sept. 8. The cost is $5.

l Ray's Crossing Days featuring a ÒCountry Store,Ó auction at 1 p.m., food and fun. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ray's Crossing Christian Union Church.

SUNDAY (9/9)

l St. Mary's Fall Festival, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

MONDAY (9/10)

l Walkabouts will also revisit the Rushville Lions appearing around town Sept. 10. Start at the Rushville Fire Department at 9 a.m. to check out the downtown lions.

TUESDAY (9/11)

l Special Hours for Food Pantry, 6 to 7 p.m., Sept. 11, 109 E. Third St. Special hours for those working during normal food pantry days.

WEDNESDAY (9/12)

l F.I.T. Walkabout participants will meet at 5:30 p.m. in the gazebo in South Veterans Memorial Park.

SATURDAY (9/22)

l Brian's Cause opening ceremoinies at 9:30 a.m. on the Rush Memorial Hospital campus, 1300 N. Man St. The ÒTogether We CanÓ 2-mile-walk will follow with participants walking a two-mile loop through Rushville before returning to the RMH campus. On-site health fair from 10 a.m. to noon. A silent auction is planned and lunch will be served. Information: Michele Gettinger 765-932-4111.

TUESDAY (9/25)

l Main Street Christian Church, 615 N. Main St., will be offering a FREE Hot Meal and fellowship with our friends in need on the last Tuesday of every month from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The hot meal will consist of chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, salads, desserts and drinks. Carry-Out is available. Please contact the church at 932-2997 for more information.

THURSDAY (9/27)

l Rush County Retired Teachers next meeting will be at noon Sept. 27 at the First Baptist Church.

SATURDAY (9/29)

l Rush County's fall festival, Rush Fest, will take place 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 29 in Downtown Rushville. Watch for specific event and activity times during the day.

SUNDAY (9/30)

l Purdue Extension Rush Co. is planning to offer the Master Gardener classes again this fall. If you are interested in taking the classes, please contact the Extension office at 932-5974. Registration deadline is Sept. 30.
