l F.I.T. Walkabout open to the public. We all know that golfing is a good fitness activity. This time we will leave the clubs and balls behind, and just walk. It's called Amblin' Around Antler Pointe. Meet in the parking lot of the golf course at 5:30 p.m.

l All Rush County vocalists: The Rush County Chorale practices at 7 p.m. in the RCHS choir room. All current members, past members and new vocalists are invited to attend. The Chorale will present the winter program on Dec. 1 and 2 at the Laughlin Center for the Performing Arts. Practices will continue at 7 p.m. on Mondays.

TUESDAY (9/25)

l Main Street Christian Church, 615 N. Main St., will be offering a free hot meal and fellowship with our friends in need from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. the last Tuesday of every month. The hot meal will consist of chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, salads, desserts and drinks. Carry-out available. Contact the church at 932-2997 for more information.

l Culver's restaurant, 1846 N. State Street, Greenfield is hosting a benefit for Rush County resident Melinda Dora from 4 to 9 p.m. Sept. 25. Dora is fighting Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and monies raised will help with her medical bills and other expenses. Fifty percent of sales during the fundraiser will be given to Dora.

l The September Manna Mission Dinner will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at Main Street Chrisitan Chruch, 615 N. Main Street, Rushville. The Manna Mission is a free monthly community dinner. Persons may eat in the church's dinning room or carry out. September's menu consists of chicken and rice casserole, buttered peas, roll and dessert.

l Alcoholics Anonymous meets each Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Hoosier Gym in Knightstown. Use the east entrance at the corner of Adams and Locust streets. Information: 765-313-1637.


l Manilla Town & Country Homemakers Club will meet at 7 p.m. at the home of Kellie Kuhn with Nancy Kuhn as co-hostess. Roll call: Favorite school subject. Norene Wright will provide a lesson on, "Raising Children in Today's World."

l F.I.T. Walkabout open to the public. Join in on Cruisin' Calvary. Meet at 5:30 p.m. at the south end of Calvary Cemetery on Fort Wayne Road.

l Noble Niters meet at 7 p.m. and the home of Beth Barnes. Christie Singleton is assistant hostess. The lesson is, "Raising children in today's world," with Carla Angle as leader. Roll call response to, What did you do for Labor Day? Linda Murphy will provide the inspiration.


l Rush County Retired Teachers next meeting will be at noon Sept. 27 at the First Baptist Church.


l Rushville Rotary Club 5K Run and Walk, 9 a.m., Sept. 29, RCHS Gym. Entry fee $15 adults and $10 child 11-17 years old. Check payable to Rushville Rotary Club. Check in and late registration 8:30 to 9 a.m. Register by Sept. 24 to guarantee a T-shirt. Proceeds benefit Rushville Rotary Club local scholarships. l Rush County's fall festival, Rush Fest, will take place 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 29 in Downtown Rushville. Watch for specific event and activity times during the day.

l F.I.T. Walkabout open to the public as part of Rush Fest. Finish the day with the Walkabout, Celebrate RushFest, in Riverside Park. Meet at 2 p.m. at the lion by the amphitheater.

l Rush County Players auditions for their Christmas production, Miracle on 34th Street, 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 29 and 30 with call-backs Oct. 1 (if needed), all at the Rush County Players Playhouse, 201 W. 2nd St., Rushville. Roles are available for those in grades 3 and above, including many "walk-on" or non-speaking roles. Shows will be Dec. 14, 15, and 16 at St. Mary's School Auditorium.Ê

SUNDAY (9/30)

l Purdue Extension Rush Co. is planning to offer the Master Gardener classes again this fall. If you are interested in taking the classes, please contact the Extension office at 932-5974. Registration deadline is Sept. 30.

l Rushville Elks #1307 Sunday Brunch. The Elks is trying something new! Every Sunday's from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., buffet style all you can eat with bagels, eggs, bacon, sausage, shredded has browns, pancakes (with fruit available) and even a manned omelet station! Meal comes with choice of tea, lemonade, orange juice or coffee. Open to the public. Senior discount. Reservations accepted.

l The 104th annual Land Reunion will be held at the Jackson Township building with the dinner beginning at noon.


MONDAY (10/1)

l The City of Rushville has completed the bridge in Riverside Park that completes the one mile trail that loops around the Amphitheater. The

trail runs through the woods and along the river and gives the feeling of

being in a state park. The ribbon cutting ceremony will be held during a

FIT Walkabout at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 1. Meet in the lower parking lot near the

Amphitheater to walk together to the bridge for the ceremony.


l F.I.T. Walkabout open to the public. Try Hoofin' It on Harcourt. The group will explore the paved path north of Conrad Harcourt Way as well as the new sidewalks. Meet at 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot on the east side of the Comfort Inn.


l Sons of the American Second Annual Golf Outing to support Rush County youth, 11 a.m., Horse Shoe Bend Golf Course. $200 per team. Prizes awarded for for 1st., 2nd. and 3rd. place. 4 person ABCD scramble. Mulligans/Skirts, longest drive/putt. Information, Rick Howard at 765-561-7304. l The Gathering is inviting the community to come to their family fun evening from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 7 at Memorial Park for pumpkin painting, games and free food for the family. The evening will include great games and free hotdogs, chips and a drink. Everyone is welcome to enjoy this event.
