TUESDAY (3/26)

l Rush County Schools Spring Break, March 25 to 29.

l Want to start your own business? Need a little help with the one you have? That assistance is coming to Rushville. Scott Underwood, business consultant from the East Central Small Business Development Center, will be presenting information on the array of business services available at no charge. This information session will be held at the Rush County Chamber of Commerce office, 315 Main Street, from 2 to 4 p.m. No registration required. Information: ECDC office at 938-3232.

l The Manna Mission from 5 to 7 p.m. at Main Street Christian Church. The meal will be marinated chicken, broccoli/rice casserole, fruit cocktail, roll and dessert. Eat-in or carry-out meals available.


l Noble Niters, 7 p.m., New Salem Methodist Church. Hostess Dianne Allen. Assistant hostess Pam Brock. Lesson on “Bake Sale.” Roll call response, “Do you color Easter Eggs?” Inspiration by Beth Barnes. Installation of officers.

FRIDAY (3/29)

l Community Good Friday Worship. The community is welcome to join for a United Good Friday Worship during the noon hour at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 631 N. Harrison Street. The worship will begin at 12:10 p.m. and conclude

promptly at 12:50 p.m. This community worship of quiet reflection, commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus the Christ, is hosted by Main Street Christian Church, First Presbyterian Church, St. Paul United Methodist Church and

Trinity Presbyterian Church.

l Due to Good Friday, the Rushville City Street Department will be closed. There will be recycling pick up as usual.


l Rushville Easter Egg Hunt, noon, South Veterans Memorial Park.

l Easter Egg Hunt for children ages 2 to 11 years, beginning at 10 a.m. at the First Church of God, 1200 W. US Hwy 52, Rushville.

l RCP Movies on Main Street will show The Ten Commandments. Start time is 6:30 p.m. at 306 N. Main Street, tickets are $5 each, and concessions will be available.

l Raleigh Community Club Dance, 7:30-10:30 p.m., weekly on Saturdays. Live band. Open to all ages.

l Do you know just a little about Microsoft Excel©, but wish you knew more? Find out how to take your knowledge of this versatile program up several notches with Rush County Lifelong Learning’s “Excel Excellence” class. This class will be held Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. April 2 through April 30, at 126 W. Main St., Rushville. The cost for the 5-week class is just $35, and it will be taught by Ron Shields. The class size is limited to 18, so call 765-932-7191 to register soon.

l Rush County Extension Homemakers are hosting a 100th birthday party at 2 p.m. in the Root Building at the Rush County Fairgrounds. There will be lots to see and do. All current and former

Homemakers are encouraged to attend. Open to the public.

MONDAY (4/8)

l Parents and family are invited to join in the Band Boosters which meets at 6 p.m. the second Monday of each month in the RCHS Band room. Families with middle school and high school band students are encouraged to come to meetings and be a part of the Band Booster program. Information: 765-561-3000.


l RCHS Drama Department presents their spring musical, “Anything Goes” April 11, 12, 13 and 14 at the Laughlin Center for the Performing Arts.

l Milroy United Methodist Church Semi-Annual Rummage Sale, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 12 and 8 a.m. to noon April 13. Saturday, April 13, fill a sack for $2. This year the sale will feature the new boutique for finer name brand clothing.


l Rush County Schools Kindergarten Round-Up for 2013-2014 School Year (Age 5 by August 1, 2013). April 13, 2013 – 8 a.m. to noon, Rushville Elementary School West (enter RESW sidewalk.) Parents please bring the following information with you: Enrollment Form on line at, birth certificate and shot records. Community fair will also be held during this time.

l The Historical Society will sponsor a group field trip to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in New Castle. Open to all, attendees will meet at the Gowdy House Museum, 619 N. Perkins, at 2:15 p.m.. The group will car pool and caravan to the Hall of Fame for a 3 p.m. tour led by Indiana Hall of Fame Executive Director and Rushville graduate Chris May. Admission $3 per person payable to Rush County Historical Society treasurer Marvin Kuhn. l The Boys and Girls Club of Rush County hosts monthly dances for elementary school age children from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost is $3 per person. D.J. is Kevin Green. Proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club.


l RCHS Prom.

l RCP Movies on Main Street will show 2 classic Indiana sports films, ”Hoosiers” and “Breaking Away.” Show time at 7:30, admission $5 for the double-feature, and concessions available. 306 N. Main Street.

l Elks will host a spring flea market day from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 223 E. Third St. People can buy a table to set up and shopping is open to the public. For table information contact Marie Philpot at 938-1307. Proceeds will support Elk’s community outreach programs.

l Mayor’s 5K Run/Walk Mayor’s 5K Run/Walk supporting Autism Awareness. The course for Mayor Pavey’s Run/Walk will exhibit the trails of the Rushville Parks and Recreation Department. Anyone interested in registering for this

l The community food pantry, 109 East Third Street, Rushville is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. Bring photo ID. Donations welcomed.
