TUESDAY (3/5)

l Dorcas Circle II of Big Flatrock Christian Church will meet at 6 p.m. at the church. All women in the church and community are invited. Info: Sharrell Adkins at 765.932.5229. Dorcas Circle II motto is: To praise God through service to church, community and country.

WEDNESDAY (3/6)

l Statflight air ambulance service will offer a four hour membership event beginning at noon and continuing until 4 p.m. in the Community Room at Rush Memorial Hospital. The Community Room is located on the first floor of inside the 13th Street entrance at RMH 1300 North Main Street.

THURSDAY (3/7)

l Rush County Health Department Immunization Clinic for children from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. in Room 105, Rush County Courthouse. Information: 932-3103.

FRIDAY (3/8)

l Rush County Community Foundation scholarship applications are due by 4 p.m. March 8, 2013, at the RCCF Office 117 N. Main St. For more information please call 765-938-1177.

SATURDAY (3/9)

l Rushville St. Patrick’s Celebration and parade. Parade 3 p.m. Ticketed celebration at 6 p.m. at Knights of Columbus.

l The Rush County Genealogical Society will hold its regular monthly meeting at 11 a.m. at the Elks Lodge.  This month’s program will be on the Underground Railroad presented by Jeannie Regan-Dinius

of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. All are welcome.

l Manilla Lions Club is hosting a Pancake, Sausage, Biscuit & Gravy Breakfast on from 6:30 to 11 a.m. at their community building located on State Road 44 on the west side of Manilla. Adults $5; children 12 and under $3.  Carryout available.

l Raleigh Community Club Dance, 7:30-10:30 p.m., weekly on Saturdays. Live band. Open to all ages.

l Homer Christian Union Church Youth Group Fundraiser Chili Supper, 5 to 7:30 p.m. Free will offering. Carry-out available.

SUNDAY (3/10)

l Rush County Players and Rushville Bridal are hosting a Prom Fashion Show! Come out and see the latest and greatest in prom wear, jewelry and more at 1 p.m, at RCP’s new home, 306 N. Main St, Rushville.

Tickets will be just $8 to see all the latest prom fashions, and to win some terrific door prizes! Will call reservations are suggested by calling 765-938-1711. See the latest prom dresses, hairstyles, make-up tips and fashion accessories.

l Daylight Savings Time begins.

l Michael Keith Day at Stagg’s Restaurant and Dairy Treats. A portion of the sales from that day will go to the Michael J. Keith Memorial Scholarship at the Rush County Community Foundation. Donations will also be accepted.This scholarship has helped 22 students with their tuition. Please come and join Michael’s family and enjoy at great meal and wonderful ice cream treats.

l RCHS Spring Choir Concert, 7:30 p.m., all choirs, Laughlin Center for the Performing Arts.

l Parents and family are invited to join in the Band Boosters which meets at 6 p.m. the second Monday of each month in the RCHS Band room. Families with middle school and high school band students are encouraged to come to meetings and be a part of the Band Booster program. Information: 765-561-3000.

l RCHS Winter Sports Awards, RCHS Cafeteria.

l County wide livestock meeting at 6 p.m. at the Root Building, Rush County Fairgrounds, co-sponsored by Rush County Extension Service and Jackman Animal Clinic. This includes a free meal catered by J&D Catering and will feature Angela Buchman discussing Indiana weather. Reservations are required for a meal count by Friday, March 8 to 932-5974 or 629-2134.

l Rush County Private Applicators Renewal program, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., March 12, Root Building, Rush County Fairgrounds. “The New Fertilizer Regulations,” will be presented by Matt Pearson, Office of Indiana State Chemist and “What’s New in Weeds,” will be presented by Travis Legleiter, Purdue University Department of Botany & Plant Pathology. The meeting is open to everyone. There is a $10 cost for the PARP credit to be paid at check-in. Call the Rush County Extension office to reserve your seat and give your Private Applicators License number for faster processing at 932-5974.

l Roots Blower Retirees pitch-in dinner with Local 1118 UAW, 11:30 a.m., Eastside Methodist Church, Connersville. Please bring a filled covered dish. Drinks, plates, etc., provided. Bring a friend. Widows welcome.

FRIDAY (3/15)

l The Boys and Girls Club of Rush County hosts monthly dances for elementary school age children from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost is $3 per person. D.J. is Kevin Green. Proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club.

SATURDAY (3/16)

l Anderson Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept. pancake and sausage breakfast, 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Milroy firehouse. Cost is free-will donation. Proceeds for purchase of new fire hoses.

l Knights of Columbus Chicken Fry from 5 to 8 p.m. Adults $10 and children $6. Carryouts available. Menu includes: Chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, rolls, applesauce and cake. All white meat $1 extra. Open to the public. Information: 932-2277.

l Big Flatrock Christian Church annual chili supper from 4-7 p.m. A free will offering will be accepted. Carry outs available. A bake sale and a silent auction will be held by the Dorcas Circle II during the meal. The church is located at 4782 W 650 S, Rushville, (one mile east of Gowdy.) l NARFE will meet at 10 a.m. at Ponderosa Steakhouse in Greensburg with optional lunch following the meeting. If you are a retired federal employee or currently an active employee and have an interest in attending chapter meetings, join us at our meeting.
