FEBRUARY

TUESDAY (2/12)

l RCHS hosts FAFSA Night for assistance with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, 3:30-7 p.m.

WEDNESDAY (2/13)

l Rush County Health Department Senior Screening from 9 a.m. to noon at the Rush County Senior Center. Available to all Rush County senior citizens at no cost. Information: 932-3103.

l Youth T-Ball league registration for the upcoming 2013 season for four, five, six and seven year-old players. Applications can be picked up at the Rush County Boys & Girls Club between Feb. 1 and March 15. An electronic version of the application is also available this year by contacting Aaron Gurley. Cost is $30 per player with the season kicking off with the jamboree April 27. Additional information or to request a electronic application, Gurley can be contacted by calling (765) 561-3078.

FRIDAY (2/15)

l Rushville Boys and Girls Little League is sponsoring dances for K-6 and middle school students (and up) at the Rushville Elks. K-6 dance is 5:30 to 7 p.m. and the dance for middle school students and up is 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. $5 admission per child. Music by DJ Kevin Green.

l Rushville Church of Christ Ladies Group hosts a chili supper starting at 5 p.m. All are welcome. Free will offering. Menu includes hotdogs, chili, dessert and drinks, 627 W. 11th St.

SATURDAY (2/16

l Knights of Columbus Chicken Fry from 5 to 8 p.m. Adults $10 and children $6. Carryouts available. Menu includes: Chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, rolls, applesauce and cake. All white meat $1 extra. Open to the public. Information: 932-2277.

SUNDAY (2/17)

l Spaghetti Lunch/Fun Auction at noon at Center Christian Church Fellowship Hall, 9112 N 50 W, Knightstown. Please join the CenterFUGE & IGNITE youth for a fun auction & spaghetti dinner (free will donations accepted) to raise money for our mission trip to New Orleans over Spring Break 2013.

TUESDAY (2/19)

l NARFE will meet at 10 a.m. at Ponderosa Steakhouse in Greensburg with optional lunch following the meeting. If you are a retired federal employee or currently an active employee and have an interest in attending chapter meetings, join us at our meeting.

WEDNESDAY (2/20)

l The Rushville Music Study Club will meet at 7 p.m. Feb. 20 at the St Paul’s Methodist Church. Please note this is a change in the meeting date. Nancy Mitchell is the program chair and Donna Kuhn is the hostess. All members and associates are encourage to attend.

THURSDAY (2/21)

l Purdue Extension Rush County and the Rush County Soil and Water Conservation District joint Annual Meeting at 6 p.m. at Center Christian Church. Meal is $9 and paid reservations are due by Feb. 15 to the Extension Office in room 103 of the Rush County Courthouse. Information: 932-5974. Program presented by Dan Moll of Knightstown about the Civil War from a southern secessionist’s perspective.

l “Know the 10 Signs,” a free workshop on detecting the warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease, will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Area 9 Agency on Aging, 520 S. 9th St., Richmond. The free session requires registration by contacting the Alzheimer’s Association at 800-272-3900.

FRIDAY (2/22)

l The Boys and Girls Club of Rush County hosts monthly dances for elementary school age children from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost is $3 per person. D.J. is Kevin Green. Proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club.

SATURDAY (2/23)

l Raleigh Community Club Dance, 7:30-10:30 p.m., weekly on Saturday, until April 11, 2013. Everyone welcomed.

SUNDAY (2/24)

l Financial aid professionals will be volunteering at Ivy Tech Community College-Richmond in Johnson Hall and 40 other Indiana sites to help college-bound students and their families open the door to financial aid during College Goal Sunday, set for 2 p.m. Feb. 24. The free program is designed to assist Indiana students seeking undergraduate admission to a college or technical school in 2013 in filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is required for students to be considered for federal and state grants, loans and scholarships at most colleges, universities and vocational/technical schools nationwide and must be filed by March 10 to be eligible for state aid. l Manilla Town and Country Homemakers Club will celebrate its 50th Anniversary with dinner and a meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Kopper Kettle Restaurant in Morristown. Evonne Kuhn and Donna Kuhn are planning the event.
