FEBRUARY

WEDNESDAY (2/27)

l Manilla Town and Country Homemakers Club will celebrate its 50th Anniversary with dinner and a meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Kopper Kettle Restaurant in Morristown. Evonne Kuhn and Donna Kuhn are planning the event.

Roll call: How long have you been in the club?

l A 4-session series of Parenting Counts is offered Feb. 27, March 6, 13 and 20 from 6:30–8 pm. Sponsored by Purdue Extension and the Rush County Parenting Council these classes are geared toward the parents and family members of children ages birth to age 5. The focus is raising socially and emotionally healthy children. Call 932-5974 to register by Feb. 20. Cost is $10 per family for the entire series. Child care provided by volunteers from the Phoenix House. Class size is limited, so call soon.

l Noble Niters will meet at 7 p.m. at the home of Margie Meyer. Cheryl Kramer will serve as co-hostess. Roll call response is to share a Valentine story. Inspiration will be given by Linda Naylor.

FRIDAY (3/1)

l Flatrock Bluegrass Band will be playing a free concert at 6 p.m. at The Gathering, 245 N. Main Street, Rushville. Everyone welcome!

l Faith Community Church Beans & Cornbread or Ham Dinner includes coleslaw potato casserole, dessert & beverage, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., Manilla Lions Club. Adults $6 Children (under 10) $3. Bake Sale with homemade noodles, breads, cakes, pies, cookies also available. Call Mary Justice 765-663-2673 for more information. All proceeds to benefit new church building fund.

SATURDAY (3/2)

l Knights of Columbus Chicken Fry from 5 to 8 p.m. Adults $10 and children $6. Carryouts available. Menu includes: Chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, rolls, applesauce and cake. All white meat $1 extra. Open to the public. Information: 932-2277.

l There will be a benefit for Bill and Tina Bailey starting at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2 at the Rushville American Legion. This event is being sponsored by the American Legion Riders. The benefit gets started at 11 a.m. with a cornhole tournament ($10 entry fee). A fried chicken dinner will be served at noon (donations accepted). There will also be a 50/50 drawing, auction, and music by local DJ Kevin Green. To make a monetary donation or to donate something for the auction please call Carla Sharpe at 765-561-5080.

l Tox-away Days are the first Saturday of each month from 8 a.m. to noon at Smiley Avenue.

l Raleigh Community Club Dance, 7:30-10:30 p.m., weekly on Saturdays. Live band. Open to all ages.

l The Rush County Democrat Central Committee will have its party reorganization at 9:30 a.m. in in the Rushville City Council Chambers. Information: party chair Tim Wehr 765-561-6793.

l All you can eat pancake breakfast only $6 per person, includes pancakes, biscuits & gravy, sausage, coffee, milk and orange juice, 7 to 11 a.m., Center Christian Church, Mays. Sponsored by Boy Scout troop 26.

TUESDAY (3/5)

l Dorcas Circle II of Big Flatrock Christian Church will meet at 6 p.m. at the church. All women in the church and community are invited. Info: Sharrell Adkins at 765.932.5229. Dorcas Circle II motto is: To praise God through service to church, community and country.

SATURDAY (3/9)

l Rushville St. Patrick’s Celebration and parade. Parade 3 p.m. Ticketed celebration at 6 p.m. at Knights of Columbus.

l Raleigh Community Club Dance, 7:30-10:30 p.m., weekly on Saturdays. Live band. Open to all ages.

l Homer Christian Union Church Youth Group Fundraiser Chili Supper, 5 to 7:30 p.m. Free will offering. Carry-out available.

SUNDAY (3/10)

l Rush County Players and Rushville Bridal are hosting a Prom Fashion Show! Come out and see the latest and greatest in prom wear, jewelry and more at 1 p.m, at RCP’s new home, 306 N. Main St, Rushville.

Tickets will be just $8 to see all the latest prom fashions, and to win some terrific door prizes! Will call reservations are suggested by calling 765-938-1711. See the latest prom dresses, hairstyles, make-up tips and fashion accessories.

l RCHS Spring Choir Concert, 7:30 p.m., all choirs, Laughlin Center for the Performing Arts.

l Parents and family are invited to join in the Band Boosters which meets at 6 p.m. the second Monday of each month in the RCHS Band room. Families with middle school and high school band students are encouraged to come to meetings and be a part of the Band Booster program. Information: 765-561-3000.

TUESDAY (3/12)

l RCHS Winter Sports Awards, RCHS Cafeteria.

THURSDAY (3/14)

l Rush Co. Band Festival, Laughlin Center for the Performing Arts.

l Roots Blower Retirees pitch-in dinner with Local 1118 UAW, 11:30 a.m., Eastside Methodist Church, Connersville. Please bring a filled covered dish. Drinks, plates, etc., provided. Bring a friend. Widows welcome.

FRIDAY (3/15)

l The Boys and Girls Club of Rush County hosts monthly dances for elementary school age children from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost is $3 per person. D.J. is Kevin Green. Proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club.

SATURDAY (3/16)

l Anderson Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept. pancake and sausage breakfast, 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Milroy firehouse. Cost is free-will donation. Proceeds for purchase of new fire hoses.

l Raleigh Community Club Dance, 7:30-10:30 p.m., weekly on Saturdays. Live band. Open to all ages.
