TUESDAY (10/23)

l Main Street Christian Church, 615 N. Main Street, will be offering a free hot meal and fellowship with our friends in need on the last Tuesday of every month from 6 to 8 p.m. Carry-out available. Contact the church at 932-2997 for more info.

WEDNESDAY (10/24)

l Manilla Town & Country Homemakers Club will meet at 7 p.m. at the home of Teola Carmony. Phyllis White will serve as co-hostess. Nancy Kuhn will give devotions. Roll call: What was the last book you read? Kathy Wright will give a program, “Improving Your Health by Increasing Your Health Literacy.” Bring monetary donations for the food pantry.

l Noble Niters will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the New Salem Methodist Church Education Building. Connie Meyer and Marlene Fudge will co-host with Linda Murphy as assistant host. Connie and Marlene will serve members dinner. Roll call: Favorite Halloween costume.

THURSDAY (10/25)

l Rush County Schools fall break Oct. 25 and 26. No school.

l Gib Young, well known Teddy Roosevelt interpreter, will present the program at the fall annual meeting of the Rush County Historical Society at 6 p.m. Nov. 1 at the 201 Building. Cost for the dinner and program is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Reservations must be made by Oct. 25 to Phyllis Fecher, 932-1810 or pfecher@frontier.com.

SATURDAY (10/27)

l Halloween Bash, 8 p.m. to midnight at the American Legion in Rushville. All proceeds go to Rush County Rider’s Toys for Tots. Join in karaoke, dancing, a costume contest and a live auction.

l Skylar’s Journey Costume Party from 6 to 9 p.m. for kids and until ? for adults at the Knights of Columbus. Cover charge is free-will donation. All proceeds going to Skylar’s Journey. Music, games, snacks, lemonade, water provided. Soft and hard drinks can be purchased. Drawing for $2,500 travel gift certificate. Drawing tickets $5 each or 5 for $20. l Fall Craft Fair at First Church of God, 1200 West US 52, Rushville. Homemade crafts, jewelry, candles, baked good and more. This event will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the church gymnasium. Info: 932-5138.

l Teresa’s Kancer Krushers Relay for Life Team will be serving breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. at the Posey Township Volunteer Fire Department. Meal includes biscuits and sausage gravy, sausage, scrambled eggs, pancakes and drinks. Free-will offering will be greatfully appreciated. Carry-outs available.

l Zombie Walk in Greenfield. Registration from 5 to 6 p.m. at Ricks Center for the Performing Arts, 122 W. Main Street. Free walk from 6 to 7 p.m. 7 to 10 p.m. costume contest and a showing of Night of the Living Dead ($10).

l St. John’s Enochsburg annual turkey dinner, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Adult dinners $9, children $4. Raffles, turtle soup sale, great food.

l 11th annual Halloween Costume Parade at the Rush County Fairgrounds Livestock Pavilion. Sign ups begin at 5:30 p.m. with the parade and judging beginning at 6 p.m. For all ages (adults too!) Treat bags and prize for each child. Sponsored by City of Rushville, Parks & Recreation Department and the Rush County F.O.P.

l Trick or Treating hours will be 5 to 9:00 p.m. in Rushville.

l Trunk or Treat at First Church of God, 1200 West US 52, Rushville. There will be treats, games, prizes and lots of fun as well as free drinks and popcorn for all from 6 to 8 p.m.

l Rush County Youth in Philanthropy will be trick or treating for canned goods and non-perishable food items for the local food pantry from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The group will be wearing shirts for identification.



NOVEMBER

SATURDAY (11/3)

l HSUR Shrine Club of Rush County all-you-can-eat breakfast, 6 to 10:30 a.m. in the RCHS cafeteria. Full menu includes beverages. Tickets available from local Shriners or at the door.

l 6th annual St. Mary School 5K Run/Walk, 8:30 a.m., Benjamin Rush Middle School, 1601 N. Sexton St., Rushville. Late registration 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. $15 adults, $10 under 18. Children’s races for sixth grade and under will be held at BRMS track. Awards and prizes. Donations accepted for St. Mary Food Pantry. Info: 765-932-3639.

l Rush County Youth Rally at 3 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 426 N. Morgan St., Rushville. Rally is for high school youth. Bring a canned food donation. Supper provided.

l Local 118 UAW Roots Blower retirees are welcome to a pitch in dinner at 11:30 a.m. at Eastside Methodist Church in Connersville. Bring filled covered dish. Drinks, plates, etc., provided. Bring spouse or friend. Widows welcome.

FRIDAY (11/9)

l Dance for elementary school age children, 6 to 8 p.m., Boys & Girls Club of Rush County. $3 per person. D.J. Kevin Green. Proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club.

l Rush County Genealogical Society will meet at 11 a.m. at the Rushville Elks #1307, 223 E 3rd Street, Rushville. This is the Election of Officers meeting. Please plan to be there]. l Pancake Breakfast, 6:30 to 10 a.m., Masonic Lodge. Every other month the Masonic Lodge hosts an all you can eat pancake breakfast. The cost is $5. Sausage, eggs and pancakes will be served. This event is sponsored by Phoenix Lodge # 62 F&AM and Martha Poe OES.

l The Boys & Girls Club of Rush County will now be open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

l The community food pantry, 109 East Third Street, Rushville is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. Bring photo ID. Donations welcomed.
