JULY

FRIDAY (7/20)

l Relay for Life of Rush County from 6 p.m. July 20 to 6 p.m. July 21, Memorial Park. Info: 765-969-8282.

SATURDAY (7/21)

l Farm Credit annual dance, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., Knights of Columbus. Tickets $10 at the door with proceeds benefiting cancer research.

l Carthage Volunteer Fire Department fourth annual Community Day beginning at 3 p.m. The free event will have activities for all ages and include an evening fireworks display. A free will donation will be accepted at the event. Information: Fire Chief Josh Cooley at (765) 565-1234 or (765) 565-2231.

l Children's Day at the Gowdy House Museum, 619 N. Perkins, is from 1-3 p.m. Children's activities are planned and the museum and carriage house will be open for tours. There is no charge for this event.

l Bentonville School 11th Reunion at the Bentonville Firehouse. Anyone who attended classes at Bentonville at any time, or anyone interested in the community are welcome to attend. The firehouse will be open at 2 p.m. for social time, cookies and drinks. At 4:30 p.m. there will be a free

will offering buffet followed by a short business meeting and program. Everyone is encouraged to bring pictures, plates, t-shirts or other items

to be displayed. There will be a silent auction for donated items with proceeds going to the reunion fund. Information: Linda Petersen Hughett at 765-265-2942 or email ldhughett@yahoo.com.

SUNDAY (7/22)

l The Lora Brook Hatfield Day at Stagg's Restaurant and Dairy Treats. A portion of sales from that day will go to the Lora Brook Hatfield Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Rush County Community Foundation. This fund provides scholarships to graduating seniors from RCHS and Knightstown Community High School. Please come and visit with the Hatfield and Newton Families and enjoy great food! Donations will also be accepted.

l Rushville Elks #1307. The Elks is trying something new! Sunday's from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., buffet style with bagels, eggs, bacon, sausage, shredded has browns, pancakes (with fruit available) and even a manned omelet station! Meal comes with choice of tea, lemonade, orange juice or coffee. Available July 22 and 29. Help make this a hit so we can continue to serve you one or two Sunday's a month. Open to the public.

MONDAY (7/23)

l RCHS Band Camp runs July 23 through 27.

WEDNESDAY (7/25)

l Ivy Tech Community College Richmond will offer Admissions Information Sessions at local libraries across its five county region. Information will be available at the Rushville Public Library from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 25.

During these free information sessions, Stephanie Hill Alexander will answer questions about degree programs, financial aid, support services and getting started for fall semester. Classes start Aug. 20. Those who are unable to attend and have questions should contact Stephanie at 1-800-659-4562, ext. 1216 or by email salexand@ivytech.edu.

l Noble Niters meet at 5:45 p.m. at Lion's Club. Meal is $13.50. Meet at 6:30 p.m. at Peggie Cooper's (PB&J), 4080 E 650 N. Roll call response is, ÒWhat did you do on July 4?Ó Fill out program books.

THURSDAY (7/26)

l Rush County Players presents The Best of Broadway at 7:30 p.m. July 26, 27 and 28 and at 2:30 p.m. July 28 and 29 at the Rush County Courthouse. Information: 765-938-1711.

l  WorkOne Eastern Indiana will host the ÒHire a Hoosier HeroÓ Recruitment & Job Fair for Veterans from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at New Castle High School Field House. This is a free event. Pre-registration is not required.

SUNDAY (7/29)

l Raymond Gipson Day free admission to Waggener Community Pool open 1 to 6 p.m.

l Rush County 4-H Day at Stagg's Dairy Treats. A percentage of sales will be donated to the Rush County 4-H club program. Please stop by and help support Rush County 4-H!

MONDAY (7/30)

l Auditions for Rush County Player's "The Little Rushcals"from 6 to 8:30 p.m. July 30 and 31 at the Rush County 4-H Horse Park, behind the Rush County Highway Department, 1352 E. State Road 44, Rushville. Those auditioning are asked to bring a list of possible conflicts to auditions. Also, parents are asked to stay on-site as their child auditions. Shows are: Sept. 14, 15, and 16. If necessary, rain dates are the following weekend, Sept. 21-23, with all performances at the Gazebo in South Veterans Memorial Park.
