TUESDAY (9/4)

l F.I.T. Walkabouts visits the Nature Center. Meet at the Boys & Girls Club of Rush County, 1590 N. Sexton Street, at 9 a.m. to walk to the Nature Center and explore its hidden treasures. Information: 932-5974.

l Alcoholics Anonymous meets each Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the Hoosier Gym in Knightstown. Use the east entrance at the corner of Adams and Locust streets. Information: 765-313-1637.

THURSDAY (9/6)

l F.I.T. Walkabouts meet at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 6 at the intersection of Spencer and Second Streets to walk through Laughlin Park. Information: 932-5974.

The Rush County Health Department will conduct its next Immunization Clinic for children from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, in Room 105 at the Rush County Courthouse. Information: 765-932-3103.

l Food, Fad and Fashion Homemakers Club will meet at the home of Polly Brown. Roll call will be "Favorite way to relax." Mary Kay DeHaven will give the lesson on ÒFriendship Through the Years." Inspiration will be given by Alice Ann Leisure.

SATURDAY (9/8)

l RCHS Football game at Lucas Oil Stadium at 2:30 p.m., Indianapolis.

l The Rushville Parks Department will sponsor the Second Annual Gospel Sing beginning at 6 p.m. at Rushville Riverside Park Amphitheater. This year's Gospel Sing will honor the military, first responders and the medical field. Many local and regional singers and musicians will be featured. Bring picnic baskets, lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy an evening of Gospel Sing. Information: Rushville Park Department at 932-4146.

l Every other month the Phoenix Lodge No. 62 F&AM hosts an all you can eat breakfast. The breakfast is 6:30 to 10 a.m., Sept. 8. The cost is $5.

l Ray's Crossing Days featuring a ÒCountry Store,Ó auction at 1 p.m., food and fun. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ray's Crossing Christian Union Church. Food features rib eye sandwiches, ham and beans cooked over an open fire with cornbread, and hot dogs, 2115 N 600 E, Shelbyville, IN 46176. Just off St. Rd. 44 in Ray's Crossing.

The Rush County Tox-Away Center at 225 South Smiley Avenue will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Sept. 8 for county residents to properly dispose of electronics and hazardous materials. The switch in the September collections date is due to Labor Day weekend.

l St. Mary's Fall Festival, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Fifth and Perkins streets.

l Rushville Elks #1307 Sunday Brunch. The Elks is trying something new! Every Sunday's from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., buffet style all you can eat with bagels, eggs, bacon, sausage, shredded has browns, pancakes (with fruit available) and even a manned omelet station! Meal comes with choice of tea, lemonade, orange juice or coffee. Open to the public. Senior discount. Reservations accepted.

MONDAY (9/10)

l Walkabouts will revisit the Rushville Lions appearing around town Sept. 10. Start at the Rushville Fire Department at 9 a.m. to check out the downtown lions. Information: 932-5974.

l Learn about ÒRaising Children in Today's WorldÓ by attending a free public presentation at 4:30 p.m. in the Earnest Family Conference Center at Rush Memorial Hospital. Mandi Jackman, one of the Home/School Liaisons with Rush County Schools, will talk about the work that she does with students, parents and teachers to promote school success despite challenges in the students' daily lives. This presentation is being sponsored by the Rush County Extension Homemakers and questions can be directed to 932-5974.

TUESDAY (9/11)

l The Area 9 In-Home and Community Services Agency 20th Senior Picnic for older Hoosiers from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 11 at Dunlapsville Pioneer Village on Brookville Lake. l Brian's Cause opening ceremoinies at 9:30 a.m. on the Rush Memorial Hospital campus, 1300 N. Man St. The ÒTogether We CanÓ 2-mile-walk will follow with participants walking a two-mile loop through Rushville before returning to the RMH campus. On-site health fair from 10 a.m. to noon. l Main Street Christian Church, 615 N. Main St., will be offering a FREE Hot Meal and fellowship with our friends in need on the last Tuesday of every month from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The hot meal will consist of chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, salads, desserts and drinks.
