l Anytime Fitness in Rushville continues to extend their offer for anyone participating in the FIT Walkabouts (even for the first time) to visit on Fridays at 4 p.m. You may walk on the treadmill or try other equipment. Anyone who is not a member of Anytime Fitness will be asked to sign the guest register, but there is no other obligation. This offer includes Dec. 28 and Jan. 4.
l Welcome Santa to Milroy as he comes to town at 1 p.m. on a firetruck escorted by the Anderson Township Volunteer Fire Department to Burns Funeral Home, 110 W. Main St., Milroy. Children are invited to come if they’d like and tell Santa their Christmas wishes.
l The Knightstown Diner is hosting a benefit for the Carthage Elementary Playground Fund with a Christmas cookie decorating party from 2 to 5 p.m. Santa Will be there too. $3 per person and children get to keep their cookie creations.
l Take advantage of opportunities to stay fit during the holiday weeks. On Dec. 27 and Jan. 3, walk with Indianapolis Hiking Club as they visit Rushville with “Get Fit On the Fitness Trail.” Meet at 3:45 p.m. in the parking lot east of Rushville Consolidated High School.
