NOVEMBER

FRIDAY (11/9)

l RCHS Drama Dept. presents the play, “Clue” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9 and 10 and 2 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Laughlin Center for the Performing Arts on the RCHS campus. Tickets are $7 each and can be purchased by calling the high school at 765-932-3901 or from any cast member. This play is reserved seating.

l Dance for elementary school age children, 6 to 8 p.m., Boys & Girls Club of Rush County. $3 per person. DJ. Kevin Green. Proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club.

l Rush County 4-H Fund Raiser. Plants are available in red, pink and marble and are $7 each. Plants will be 16” - 18” tall in 6” gold foil pots. Please call the Rush County Extension Office at 765-932-5974 to place an order. Orders will be taken until plants are all sold. Pick up is noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 29 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 30 at the Extension Office, Room 103 in the Rush County Courthouse.

l Rush County Senior Citizens Center is taking reservations for booth space for the Annual Christmas Bazaar on Dec. 5. Call 932-2935 to reserve space. Deadline Nov. 29.

SATURDAY (11/10)

l Rush County Genealogical Society will meet at 11 a.m. at the Rushville Elks #1307, 223 E 3rd Street, Rushville. This is the Election of Officers meeting. Please plan to be there]. Also, Brian Sheehan will be giving a program on Rush County history with lots of pictures. Information: rushcogs@gmail.com

l Pancake Breakfast, 6:30 to 10 a.m., Masonic Lodge. Every other month the Masonic Lodge hosts an all you can eat pancake breakfast. The cost is $5. Sausage, eggs and pancakes will be served. This event is sponsored by Phoenix Lodge # 62 F&AM and Martha Poe OES.

l City of Rushville Veterans Celebration will begin at 11 a.m. at the North Veterans Memorial Park Bridge. Everyone welcome.

l The Hoosier Gym in Knightstown Dinner and a Movie at 6 p.m. “Raise the Roof” benefit will kick off the Hoosier Gym Community Center’s efforts to raise funds for a new roof over the lobby of the 90-year-old facility. A pork dinner and the movie “Hoosiers” will be show in Blu-ray format. Tickets $10 adults, $5 children 12 and younger. Tickets are on sale at the Hoosier Gym, Knightstown Chamber of Commerce, MidCountry Media, Americana Bank (Knightstown), Citizens State Bank (Knightstown), Main Source Bank (Knightstown) and the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in News Castle. l Holiday Expo from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rushville Elementary School East and West gyms. Many vendors including craft vendors, various home consultants and businesses. Bake sale, lunch and door prizes. Admission $1. This event is a fundraiser for Rushville Victim’s Assistance, Inc., St. Mary’s PTA, and the Rushville Republican EIN.  This is a great time to start your Christmas shopping.

SUNDAY (11/11)

l Veterans Day

l American Legion Ladies Auxiliary host free Ham & Bean Dinner for veterans and their families, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., by Ladies Auxiliary at the American Legion, 113 S. Morgan St., Rushville.

l Arc’s annual Wheelchair Bowling Event. Times of 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. are available. Call Jan Hornaday at 561-3108 or Cindy Sickbert at 932-4563 to register your team of four or five bowlers. Team fees are a minimum of $125. All proceeds help those with physical or mental challenges.

l F.I.T. Walkabouts will “Cruise Calvary”. Meet at 5:30 p.m. at the south end of Calvary Cemetery on Fort Wayne Road. This walkabout is sponsored by the Fitness Initiative Team of Rush County. Information: 932-5974.

l Partners for a Healthy Rush County will meet at 5:15 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club of Rush County, 1590 N. Sexton Street. This meeting of Rush County’s health coalition is open to the public. Information: Rush County Health Department at 932-3103.

WEDNESDAY (11/14)

l Noble Niters meets at 7 p.m. at the home of Dixie Meyer. Beth Barnes is Co-hostess. Lesson is preparing for winter with leader Joni Naylor. Roll call response is your favorite magazine. Inspiration by Joni Naylor.

l The Rushville Music Study Club will meet at 7 p.m. at the St Paul Methodist Church. Ms. Marsha Chamber is the program chairperson and Karen Ward is hostess. All members and associates are encouraged to attend.

FRIDAY (11/16)

l Christmas On Main is the kick off for the holiday season by bringing Santa to town. Santa will then be in Willkie Park at Santa’s House to talk to little ones about their Christmas wishes. Parade line-up starts at 5:30 p.m, The parade at 6 p.m. and is open to all! Decorate entries with lights for all to enjoy. Merchants open late, vendors along Main Street, 3rd Street features a tent with children’s activities inside, Jazz Band performing in the Gazebo. On Monday, November 26, meet at Memorial Gymnasium at 11:35 a.m. Memorial Gym is available (when school is in session) Monday – Friday from 6:30 – 8:00 a.m. and during the students’ lunchtime – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 11:35 a.m. – 12:05 p.m. and Wednesday 11:20 – 11:50 a.m. F.I.T.
