MARCH

FRIDAY (3/22)

l Dance for middle schoolers from 7 to 10 p.m. at 306 N. Main Street (next to Rushville Pharmacy). Music by DJ Kevin Green. This is a fundraiser for the Rush County Players.

SATURDAY (3/23)

l Rush County Booster Club Concert at the RCHS gymnasium. Doors open at 6 p.m. Amish Open Mic Band opening at 7 p.m. followed by Zeke and the Geeks. Admission is $5 per person.

l Raleigh Community Club Dance, 7:30-10:30 p.m., weekly on Saturdays. Live band. Open to all ages.

MONDAY (3/25)

l Rush County Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner at the 201 Building in downtown Rushville. Keynote speaker is US Attorney and Rushville native Joe Hogsett. Reception 5:30 to 6 p.m., dinner 6-7 p.m. and the annual meeting begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person for Chamber Partners and $30 for non-partners. Call 932-2880 for reservations or visit the Chamber at 315 N. Main St.

l Rush County Schools Spring Break, March 25-29.

l Auditions for Shelby County Players’ next production, Plaza Suite by Neil Simon, will be at 6:30 p.m. March 25 and 26 at The Strand Theatre, 215 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville. Those who audition will read from the script. A perusal script is available at the Shelbyville/Shelby County Public Library, 57 W. Broadway St., Shelbyville. Audition forms will be available at auditions or can be downloaded by visiting www.shelbycountyplayers.com. To speak to one of the directors you may leave a message at 317-392-6844. Performances May 9-12, Strand Theatre, Shelbyville.

l The Board of Trustees of the Rushville Public Library has postponed their regular meeting date of March 18,, and has moved the meeting date to 6 p.m. March 25, in the library meeting room. In addition, the Board of Trustees will hold an executive meeting to discuss personnel at 5:45 p.m. March 25, in the meeting room.

TUESDAY (3/26)

l Want to start your own business? Need a little help with the one you have? That assistance is coming to Rushville. Scott Underwood, business consultant from the East Central Small Business Development Center, will be presenting information on the array of business services available at no charge. The SBDC connects “entrepreneur hopefuls” with the educational, financial and mentoring resources they will need as they move forward with starting or expanding their own business. This information session will be held at the Rush County Chamber of Commerce office, 315 Main Street, from 2 to 4 p.m. No registration required. Information: ECDC office at 938-3232.

l The Manna Mission from 5 to 7 p.m. at Main Street Christian Church. The meal will be marinated chicken, broccoli/rice casserole, fruit cocktail, roll and dessert. Eat-in or carry-out meals available.

WEDNESDAY (3/27)

l Noble Niters, 7 p.m., New Salem Methodist Church. Hostess Dianne Allen. Assistant hostess Pam Brock. Lesson on “Bake Sale.” Roll call response, “Do you color Easter Eggs?” Inspiration by Beth Barnes. Installation of officers.

l Manilla Town & Country Homemakers Club dinner meeting, 6 p.m., Cow Palace in Shelbyville. Thelma Myer will give devotions.

FRIDAY (3/29)

l Community Good Friday Worship. The community is welcome to join for a United Good Friday Worship during the noon hour at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 631 N. Harrison Street. The worship will begin at 12:10 p.m. and conclude

promptly at 12:50 p.m. This community worship of quiet reflection, commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus the Christ, is hosted by Main Street Christian Church, First Presbyterian Church, St. Paul United Methodist Church and

Trinity Presbyterian Church.

l Due to Good Friday, the Rushville City Street Department will be closed. There will be recycling pick up as usual.

SATURDAY (3/30)

l Rushville Easter Egg Hunt, noon, South Veterans Memorial Park.

l Easter Egg Hunt for children ages 2 to 11 years, beginning at 10 a.m. at the First Church of God, 1200 W. US Hwy 52, Rushville.

l RCP Movies on Main Street will show The Ten Commandments. Start time is 6:30 p.m. at 306 N. Main Street, tickets are $5 each, and concessions will be available.

l Raleigh Community Club Dance, 7:30-10:30 p.m., weekly on Saturdays. Live band. Open to all ages.
