l Election Day. Polls open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

l Indiana Blood Center blood drives, 5 – 6:45 p.m., Anytime Fitness, Rushville. l Phoenix Lodge #62 F&AM will host a all you can eat breakfast from 6:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. The $5 breakfast will be held in conjunction with a blood drive at the local masons lodge. Walk-ups are welcome and carry out is available.

l Rush County 4-H Fund Raiser. Plants are available in red, pink and marble and are $7 each. Plants will be 16” - 18” tall in 6” gold foil pots. Please call the

Rush County Extension Office at 765-932-5974 to place an order. Orders will be taken until plants are all sold. Pick up is noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 29 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 30 at the Extension Office,

l RCHS Fall Sports Awards Night will be at 7 p.m. in the RCHS Cafeteria.

l Explore the walking trail north of Conrad Harcourt Way with “Hoofin’ It on Harcourt.”  Meet at 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot east of the Comfort Inn. This F.I.T. Walkabout is sponsored by the Fitness Initiative Team of Rush County. Information: 932-5974.

THURSDAY (11/8)

l Join Rushville Elks 1307 for their Oyster Extravaganza to benefit Indiana Veterans Services. The Oyster Extravaganza begins serving at 6:30 p.m. and includes: Oyster stew, ham & beans, fried oysters, turkey fries, livers & gizzards, and all the trimmings. The evening includes fun and games. Cost is $18 in advance or $20 at the door.

l Local 118 UAW Roots Blower retirees are welcome to a pitch in dinner at 11:30 a.m. at Eastside Methodist Church in Connersville. Bring filled covered dish. Drinks, plates, etc., provided. Bring spouse or friend. Widows welcome.

l The Rush Co. Board of Commissioners and ADA Consultants of Indiana invite you to attend a public hearing at 7 p.m. in the Courthouse Assembly Room. The Board is seeking public input regarding the current accessibility in and around the county. The ADA will also answer any questions regarding ADA compliance in the city.

l RCHS Drama Dept. presents the play, “Clue” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9 and 10 and 2 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Laughlin Center for the Performing Arts on the RCHS campus. Tickets are $7 each and can be purchased by calling the high school at 765-932-3901 or from any cast member. This play is reserved seating.

l Dance for elementary school age children, 6 to 8 p.m., Boys & Girls Club of Rush County. $3 per person. DJ. Kevin Green. Proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club.

l Rush County Genealogical Society will meet at 11 a.m. at the Rushville Elks #1307, 223 E 3rd Street, Rushville. This is the Election of Officers meeting. Please plan to be there]. l Pancake Breakfast, 6:30 to 10 a.m., Masonic Lodge. Every other month the Masonic Lodge hosts an all you can eat pancake breakfast. The cost is $5. Sausage, eggs and pancakes will be served. This event is sponsored by Phoenix Lodge # 62 F&AM and Martha Poe OES.

l The Hoosier Gym in Knightstown Dinner and a Movie at 6 p.m. “Raise the Roof” benefit will kick off the Hoosier Gym Community Center’s efforts to raise funds for a new roof over the lobby of the 90-year-old facility. A pork dinner and the movie “Hoosiers” will be show in Blu-ray format. Tickets $10 adults, $5 children 12 and younger. Tickets are on sale at the Hoosier Gym, Knightstown Chamber of Commerce, MidCountry Media, Americana Bank (Knightstown), Citizens State Bank (Knightstown), Main Source Bank (Knightstown) and the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in News Castle. l Holiday Expo from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rushville Elementary School East and West gyms. Many vendors including craft vendors, various home consultants and businesses. Bake sale, lunch and door prizes. Admission $1. This event is a fundraiser for Rushville Victim’s Assistance, Inc., St. Mary’s PTA, and the Rushville Republican EIN.  This is a great time to start your Christmas shopping.

l Arc’s annual Wheelchair Bowling Event. Times of 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. are available. Call Jan Hornaday at 561-3108 or Cindy Sickbert at 932-4563 to register your team of four or five bowlers. Team fees are a minimum of $125. All proceeds help those with physical or mental challenges.

l Christmas On Main is the kick off for the holiday season by bringing Santa to town. Santa will then be in Willkie Park at Santa’s House to talk to little ones about their Christmas wishes. Parade line-up starts at 5:30 p.m, The parade at 6 p.m. and is open to all! Decorate entries with lights for all to enjoy. Merchants open late, vendors along Main Street, 3rd Street features a tent with children’s activities inside, Jazz Band performing in the Gazebo.
