Sarah Haymond Kuhn and Jason Daniel Nordby were married at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at Zion United Church of Christ, Shelbyville, with Rev. Dennis L. Frische-Mouri officiating. Brian Kuhn, brother of the bride, gave the blessing and exchange of rings followed by the hourglass unity ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Marvin and Donna Kuhn of Homer. The groom is the son of Daniel and Eileen Nordby of Arden Hills, Minn.
The double-ring ceremony included piano, keyboard and organ music by Debbie Ryhal of Shelbyville. Rick Haymond of Waldron, uncle of the bride, was soloist. Virginia Kuhn of Cicero, sister-in-law of the bride, gave a reading.
The bride’s ivory strapless gown, designed by Jasmine, was trumpet-shaped featuring embroidered lace and sequins flowing into tulle skirting at the bottom. The sash at the waist was adorned with flowers and formed a self-tied bow in the back. The back of the gown flowed into a train of tulle. The bride wore a floral clip in her hair and carried a bouquet of white roses accented with various ivory flowers. She wore red shoes, pearl earrings - a gift of the groom, and her mother’s pearl necklace.
Maid of honor was Cyndi Berlinger of Euless, Texas, a friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Mollie Rauh of Clarendon Hills, Ill., cousin of the bride; and Erika Boyd of Indianapolis, friend of the bride. Naomi Kuhn of Cicero, niece of the bride served as flower girl. The attendants wore champagne dresses with pleated halter tops. Each carried a rose bouquet in one of the three accent colors of deep red, hot pink and orange. The flower girl wore an ivory chiffon and tulle gown with red sash accented by red shoes. She carried a pink and orange pom.
Best man was Jasen Wise of Cedarburg, Wis., friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Bryant Sears of Crown Point, friend of the groom; and Mark Kozuki of Anaheim, Calif., friend of the groom. Junior groomsmen were Colin, Isaac and Simon Kuhn, all of Cicero, nephews of the bride. The junior groomsmen carried picture frames with the words “Here Comes the Bride.”
Bradley Kuhn of Chambersburg, Pa., brother of the bride and Mike Nordby of Roseville, Minn., cousin of the groom, served as ushers. Kara Haymond of Waldron, cousin of the bride, and Heather Nordby of Woodbury, Minn., cousin of the groom, were the guest book attendants.
Grandmothers of the bride in attendance were Kathleen Kuhn and Vivian Haymond, both of Waldron. Marie Nordby of Roseville, Minn., grandmother of the groom, also attended.
The rehearsal dinner was held at the Milano Inn, Indianapolis. The wedding reception was held at Mavris Banquet and Event Center, Indianapolis.
The bride graduated from Rushville Consolidated High School in 2000 and Purdue University in 2004. She is director of sales for Levy Restaurants at BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wis.
The groom graduated from Mounds View High School, New Brighton, Minn., in 1998 and The College of St. Scholastica, Duluth, Minn., in 2002. He is the strength and conditioning coach for the Milwaukee Admirals Hockey Team.
The couple honeymooned in Tahiti and Bora Bora. They now reside in Glendale, Wis.
