wedding: Jan Lauren Weidner and Brett Ryan Norris



Jan Lauren Weidner and Brett Ryan Norris were united in marriage Sept. 18, 2010. The double ring ceremony was held at 3:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Rushville, with the Rev. Dena Vittorio officiating. The bride is the daughter of Melinda and the late Sam Weidner; the groom is the son of Warren and Bobbi Norris. Don and June Dawson, the bride’s grandparents, were in attendance. The bride wore an ivory Casa Blanca fit-and-flare gown with a scooped and ruched crystal taffeta empire bodice. The skirt was embellished with beaded lace appliqués and finished with a scalloped hem. Accessories included her grandmother’s pearl earrings, a pearl solitaire pendant necklace, and a pearl bracelet that was a gift from the groom’s brothers. She carried a yellow hydrangea bouquet arranged by her mother. Bridesmaids wore canary yellow, one-shoulder, long jersey dresses, was cascading backs. They carried bouquets of lavender. Matron of honor was Jackie Griffin, sister of the bride. Maid of honor was Jamie Weidner, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Maria Terrell and Megan Tucker, friends of the bride. The groom wore a Calvin Klein gray two-button super satin edge peak lapel tuxedo with a matching gray vest and tie. The groomsmen wore matching tuxedos with canary vests and ties and complimentary suspenders. Best men were Nathan Norris, Brandon Norris and Blake Norris, brothers of the groom. Groomsmen were Josh Pike, Daniel Burklow, Ben Bare and Phillip Morgan, friends of the groom. Ring bearer was Griffin Norris, nephew of the groom. Guest registrants were Sarah Hodgin and Marci Davis, friends of the bride. Ceremony reader was Anna Richards, cousin of the bride. Pianist was Linda Hood and vocalist was Josie Walsh. The bride and groom drove away from the church in a 1932 model 8-125 Marmon with rumble seat. A celebration with dinner and dancing immediately followed at the Mother of the bride’s home. Dinner was wonderfully catered by Sam and Maria Trebley. The four-tiered textured cake was created by Susie Odum and served by Connie Schakel, Sarah Hodgin and Marci Davis. The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at the Greensburg Country Club. A delicious meal was catered by The Mulligan Grille. Flowers were provided by Vogel’s Florist. After a honeymoon trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple now resides in Rushville.
