Indians rally falls short

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Tribe scored once in the ninth and moved the game-tying run to third with two outs, but ultimately saw its final-frame comeback fall just 90 feet short as the Indianapolis Indians (63-47) dropped a 2-1 nail biter to the Syracuse Chiefs (48-59) on Sunday afternoon at Victory Field.

The defeat extends the Tribe’s losing streak to a season-high six straight games, but with a Louisville loss tonight, Indianapolis can again retain it’s 10-game lead in the International League West Division.

Trailing 2-0 in the final frame of the contest, Tribe reliever Atahualpa Severino (1.0 IP, H) gave up one hit while keeping Syracuse off the board to set the stage for another potential Indians rally in the home half of the inning.
