Junior varsity football
The junior varsity Lion football team defeated South Dearborn 28-6.
The Lion defense kept the Knights scoreless until late in the fourth quarter. Three turnovers added in the win. Taylor Colvin and Clayton Griffith both had fumble recoveries. Jase Meyer had an interception.
Offensively, Spenser Wilson had a 5-yard touchdown and Preston Bowling added the 2-point conversion. Jacob Wilson scored on a 27-yard pass from Keith Yager as the Lions led 14-0 at the half.
Spenser Wilson added a second touchdown run (7-yards). Bowling had a 12-yard touchdown run and Jacob Wilson added the 2-point conversion. That offensive output was led by the work of the offensive line consisting of Nathan Douglass, Colvin, Hunter Barnett, Griffith, Zach Rickett, Meyer and Tyler Turner.
RCHS basketball tickets
Golden Lion Members, Corporate Sponsors and parents of players will have first choice on reserved seats for boys and girls basketball games. They should bring their tickets to the Memorial Gym Athletic Office on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. All-Sport ticket holders may begin selecting their seats on Nov. 4.
General admission tickets will be $5 (middle school and high school students will not need assigned seats).
Ticket prices are: Golden Lion Ticket $60, Adult All-Sport $50 and Student All-Sport $40.
Bourdais signs 2-year deal with KVSH
Four-time series champion Sebastien Bourdais has signed a two-year deal with KVSH Racing to replace Indianapolis 500 winner Tony Kanaan.
The contract confirmed to The Associated Press on Wednesday gives team principals Kevin Kalkhoven, Jimmy Vasser and James “Sulli” Sullivan hope that KVSH can compete for titles going forward now that it has a driver that is tied for second with Mario Andretti and Dario Franchitti for series championships.
“Sebastien is a proven champion and we look forward to working with him to produce more championships,” Kalkhoven said.
