Spikers win on Senior Night

The Lady Lion volleyball team honored seniors Keragan Niehoff, Kayla Shelton, Allison Wainwright and Casey Yager and then knocked off Morristown 25-14, 25-23, 25-19.

For the Lady Lions, Wainwright had one ace, eight kills, two blocks and eight digs. Yager added three kills. Shelton finished with one ace, four kills, one block, one assist and one dig. Niehoff tallied three aces, 11 kills and 12 digs.

Also for the Lady Lions, Brenna Hall had one dig. Carissa Comstock had three digs. Keely Springman finished with two blocks, 26 assists and six digs. McKenzie Woolston had five aces and eight digs. Tessa Hoeing tallied five aces, four kills and nine digs.

“I am so very pleased with the way the girls came out and played last night. We are getting back to a place where we are confident in what we can do and are ready to take it to the next level,” Coach Meagan Hearne said.

In the junior varsity match, the Lady Lions won 20-25, 25-23, 15-6.

For the Lady Lions, Darbi Mello had two aces, five kills and four digs. Emma Harpring had one ace, two kills and two assists. Fran Percell had one dig. Kayla Aldridge added four aces and two digs. Kelly Brown had two aces, nine assists and three digs. Mekyna Hall tallied one ace and one dig. Tori Colestock finished with four aces, six kills and six assists.

Lady Lions fall in three at Connersville

On the road at Connersville, the Lady Lions fell to the Lady Spartans in three sets 25-12, 25-22, 25-22.

For the Lady Lions, Wainwright had four kills and 10 digs. Hall added six digs and Comstock had two digs. Yager tallied four kills and one dig. Shelton finished with one kill, one block and one dig. Springman dished out 16 assists and had eight digs. Niehoff added one ace, seven kills, two blocks and eight digs. Woolston had two digs. Hoeing finished with seven aces, four kills and seven digs.
