Lady Lions first, Lions second in home meet

RUSHVILLE — The RCHS cross country teams closed out the regular season by hosting Shelbyville and Hauser. The Lady Lions picked up their first win of the season and the Lions took second behind conference champion Shelbyville.

For the girls, the Lady Lions finished with 27 followed by Shelbyville 40 and Hauser 53.

Rushville’s Monica Dougherty finished second in 23:41. Michaela Orme was fourth in 26:01. Megan Clifton took fifth in 26:15. Sarah Ford was seventh in 27:37 and Leah Noe was ninth in 29:34.

For the boys, Shelbyville finished with 20 followed by Rushville 38 and Hauser incomplete.

Josh Clifton led the way for the Lions in third with a time of 18:13. James Brashaber was fifth in 18:38, Garrett Young finished ninth in 18:59. David Fogg crossed the line 11th in 19:16. Austin Dwenger was 13th in 19:20. Dalton Miller finished 14th in 19:27. LJ Conrad took 17th in 19:36 followed by Nick Zepeda 18th in 19:56, Michael Ford 24th in 23:15 and Zach Roszell 26th in 23:26.

The Lions and Lady Lions travel to Connersville Tuesday for the sectional.
