---- — The annual Rushville Classic hosted cross country teams from around the state on a hot, humid Saturday.
The Division III girls opened the day and Oldenburg Academy’s Sarah Billingsley posted a winning time of 19:11. The Lady Twisters won the team title with 48 points. Hagerstown was second with 56 and Indianapolis Scecina was third with 89.
In the Division III boys, Oldenburg freshman Curt Eckstein ran a 17:05 to top the field. Hagerstown freshman Mason Bledsoe was second at 17:31.
Wes-Del won the team title with 76 followed by Oldenburg with 85 and Hagerstown with 99.
Batesville dominated things for the Division II girls. Sarah Poltrack won the race in 20:33 and teammate Kelsey Gausman was second in 20:38.86.
The Lady Bulldgos won the team title with 44 points. Yorktown was second with 117 and South Dearborn third with 134.
Rushville finished eighth in the 15-team field.
The Lady Lions were led by Kayla Fogg in 21:44. Monica Dougherty was next for the Lady Lions at 21:57. Brandi Adkins crossed the line in 22:31. Brooke Taylor finished in 28:21 and Sarah Ford finished in 37:39.
Three EIAC teams led the way for the Division II boys. South Dearborn, led by race winner Joe Rector (17:16), won the team title with 52. Batesville was second with 94 and the Lions finished third with 119.
Rushville was led by Dalton Miller’s sixth place time of 18:03. Kenny Nigh crossed the line in 18:52. Austin Dwenger ran a 19:20. L.J. Conrad finished in 19:33. Bryce Conrad was next for the Lions in 19:42. Patrick Duffy finished in 20:16 and Josh Hodge ran a 21:30.
For the Division I girls, Westfield took first place with 30 followed by Connersville 57 and Indianapolis Cathedral 77. Cathedral’s Ellen Flood won the race.
Cathedral won the title for the boys with 38 points. Greenfield-Central was second with 63 and Northview was third with 91.
Cathedral’s Adam George won the race in 16:02.
