Lady Trojans spoil Senior Night for Lady Lions

RUSHVILLE — The Lady Lion soccer team celebrated Senior Night for Caroline Kuhn, Taylor Gilbert, Kaley Flannery and Mikayla Dougherty. New Castle put a damper on the night as the Lady Trojans knocked off the Lady Lions 7-0.

Just three minutes into the game, Emily Peavie scored off a corner by Anna Smith. Olivia Malott scored two goals. Baker added a pair of goals and Peavie added her second to give the Lady Trojans a 6-0 lead at the half.

Smith added a second-half goal to make the final margin 7-0.

Rushville had just six shots for the game. Kuhn finished with four shots. Abbey Whitaker and Sierra Aylsworth both had one shot. Keeper Nici Martin finished with 13 saves.

In the junior varsity half, the Lady Lions fell to New Castle 1-0.

Rushville had six shots in the half. Taylor Yager recorded two shots. Katie Schroeder, Aylsworth, McKenzie Conrad and Jordan Linville each had one shot. Makayla Herbert finished with six saves in goal.

The Lady Lions (4-9-1) travel to Richmond at 5 p.m. Thursday to face the host Lady Red Devils in sectional action.
