Cougars win swim sectional title

RUSHVILLE — The Cougars of Greenfield-Central took the sectional title at New Palestine with a team total 472. Mt. Vernon (Fortville) was a distant second at 365 followed by Connersville 309, Richmond 226, New Palestine 194, Centerville 179, New Castle 127, Hagerstown 123, Eastern Hancock 51, Shenandoah 31 and Rushville 18.

RushvilleÕs 200 medley relay team of Sam Cole, Jacob Fowler, Stone Worth and Dalton Miller advanced to the consolations and finished ninth with a time of 2:09.66, five seconds better than the previous season best time.

In the prelims, Miller finished the 200 freestyle in 2:17.50 (season best).

In the 50 freestyle, Fowler finished with a season best :27.21 and Evan Messer had a season best :30.55.

Worth had a season best 1:04.57 in the 100 freestyle. Cole had a season best 1:08.37 and Messer had a season best 1:12.64.

Miller had a season best 6:17.21 in the 500 freestyle.

Cole had a season best 1:17.38 in the 100 backstroke.

In the 100 breaststroke, Worth finished in 1:24.19 and Fowler had a time of 1:28.07.
