The Lady Lions volleyball team honored its four senior players prior to taking on Franklin County. The Lady Lions capped the night with a 5-set victory over the Lady Wildcats 15-25, 25-14, 9-25, 25-18, 15-9.
Rushville ends the regular season at 7-16 and will take on South Dearborn at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Batesville Sectional.
"I was very proud of the way the girls fought for this win. These last two wins give us the confidence in our game that we need going into the sectional," Coach Meagan Hearne said.
For the Lady Lions, Allison Wainwright had four kills and eight digs. Autumn Meece added five aces, one kill and 13 digs. Casey Yager tallied seven kills, one block, one assist and one dig. Jacquelyn Hastings had five kills, one block and nine digs. Kayla Shelton added six kills and six digs. Keely Springman had four aces, three kills, two blocks, 33 assists and nine digs. Keragan Niehoff finished with four aces, 16 kills and 12 digs. McKenzie Woolston and Morgan VanNatta both had one dig. Michaela Colestock had two aces and one dig.
In the junior varsity match, the Lady Lions prevailed in two sets 25-14, 25-12.
For Rushville, Brenna Hall served four aces. Brooke Drake and Sam Dye both had one kill. Carissa Comstock finished with one ace, four assists and one dig. Emma Harpring and Tori Colestock both had two kills. Jayce Ullah-Blocks finished with three aces, two kills, one assist and one dig. Woolston chipped in with one ace and three assists. Tessa Hoeing had four aces, two kills and two digs.
The junior varsity Lady Lions finished at 11-10.
