Swimmers set 11 personal best times

CENTERVILLE — The Lady Lions and Lions traveled to Centerville to face the host Bulldogs in swimming action Tuesday. Rushville continues to improve as the teams combined to set 11 personal best times in the meet.

Rushville’s Brooke Cameron won the 100 freestyle in a personal best 1:18.75. Teagan Warner was fifth in 1:27.06 and Lindsey Flannery was sixth in a personal best 1:33.83. For the Lions, Sam Cole finished second in a personal best 1:03.17 with Bradlee Gwinnup fourth in 1:30.57.

Cameron took second in the 50 freestyle in a personal best :34.73. Warner was fifth in a personal best :35.53. Jessica Schlechtweg was sixth in :38.74 and Flannery finished the junior varsity race in :39.08.

Stone Worth won the 100 breaststroke in 1:21.54. For the Lady Lions, Mekyna Hall was second in 1:27.67 and Brenna Hall was third in 1:29.69.

Courtney Hall touched the way third in the 200 freestyle in a personal best 2:50.25. Abby Clark was fourth in a personal best 2:52.51 and Moore was sixth in 3:06.02.

Clark finished second in the tough 500 freestyle with a personal best 7:43.92. Brenna Hall was third in 7:45.47 and Moore was fifth in 8:47.37. For the Lions, Dalton Miller was second in a personal best 6:25.46.

Cole finished second in the 100 backstroke with a personal best 1:16.99. For the girls, Frances Percell was third in 1:36.41 and Schlechtweg was fifth in 2:00.

The 200 freestyle relay team of Worth, Cole, Gwinnup and Miller took first place in 1:57.41. For the Lady Lions, the team of Mekyna Hall, Courtney Hall, Cameron and Brenna Hall finished second in a personal best 2:11.79 with the team of Warner, Schlechtweg, Moore and Percell fourth in 2:29.96.

The Lady Lion 200 medley relay team of Percell, Mekyna Hall, Clark and Brenna Hall finished second in 2:41.07. For the Lions, the team of Cole, Worth, Miller and Gwinnup was fourth in 2:18.07.

In the final event, the 400 freestyle relay team of Clark, Courtney Hall, Cameron and Moore finished third in a personal best 5:19.26 and the team of Warner, Flannery, Percell and Schlechtweg was fourth in 6:08.89.
