Purdue adds 3 early enrollees to football roster
WEST LAFAYETTE (AP) — The Boilermakers have another highly-touted quarterback already on campus.
David Blough graduated early from high school and has enrolled at Purdue. Offensive lineman Kirk Baron also entered college early, along with defensive lineman Langston Newton, a transfer from Kentucky.
All three can participate in spring practice.
Blough threw for more than 1,500 yards and 13 touchdowns last season at Creekview High School in Carrollton, Texas. He jumped up the recruiting charts after a strong performance at the Elite 11 Camp in Portland, Ore., and will now compete with incumbent Danny Etling for playing time.
Baron played at Mishawaka Marian and was the Lineman MVP at a camp in Chicago last year.
Newton did not play in two seasons at Kentucky after helping Carmel win Indiana’s Class 5A title in 2011.
