RUSHVILLE — BRMS cross country closes out season

The Benjamin Rush Middle School cross country teams closed out their seasons at Brookville.

For the girls, the scores were Rushville 23, Connersville 51 and Brookville incomplete.  Kayla Fogg won the race in 12:09. Brandi Adkins was second (12:30) and Arielle Ordas third (13:12).  Also for the Cubs, Macey Orme was eighth (14:03) followed by Brooke Cameron ninth (season best 14:24), Lindsey Flannery 10th (14:26), Alisha Markley 12th (season best 14:37), Kiara Thorp 13th (season best 14:43), Ainsley Flannery 18th and Tori Whittaker 19th.

For the boys, the scores were Rushville 30, Connersville 39 and Brookville 61.  Connersville took the top two spots.  For the Cubs, Josh Hodge took third place (season best 11:30). Landis Gettinger was fifth (season best 11:39) followed by Brett Leisure sixth (11:40), Kyle Schindler seventh (season best 11:41) and Luke Schombert ninth (season best12:19).  Also for Rushville, William Noe was 16th with Jake Smith 17th, Jon Ripberger 20th, Will Thoman 22nd, Noah Mullins 23rd (season best 14:00), Jacob Kirchoff 24th (season best 14:05), Reece Fields 26th, Errick Hayes 29th (season best 16:09) and Adam Neuman 30th (season best 16:11).

"I could not have asked for a better finale as the runners posted 11 season best times and capped off an excellent season with two good wins," Coach Rick Cumberworth said.

The girls finish with a 21-6 record, while the boys finish at 22-5.
