Lady Cougars win own invite title

RUSHVILLE — GREENFIELD – The Lady Cougars of Greenfield-Central defended their home turf by winning the Cougar Chase title Friday. Greenfield finished with a team-total 168 followed by Franklin 156, Eastern Hancock 127, Connersville 109, Rushville 78, Horizon Christian 1 and Irvington Prep Academy 0.

For the Lady Lions, Autumn Meece took fourth in the 100 and sixth in the 200. Katie Newbold was seventh in the 100 and Jacquelyn Hastings was third in the 200.

Mikayla Dougherty took seventh in the 800.

Monica Dougherty finished sixth in the 1600.

Regan Laker crossed the line sixth in the 100 hurdles.

Kylee Elleman finished fifth in the pole vault followed by Samm Harrison sixth and Keely Springman seventh.

Sarah Daubenspeck was sixth in the high jump.

Katie Egielske was eighth in the long jump.

Ellie Sammons finished fourth in the shot put and second in the discus. Kayla Shelton was sixth in the shot put and fifth in the discus.

The 400 relay team of Meece, Marisa Hall, Newbold and Hastings was fourth.

The 800 relay team of Meece, Newbold, Hall and Darbi Mello finished third.

The 1600 relay team of Emilee Rogers, Newbold, Hall and Mikayla Dougherty took fifth.

The 3200 relay team of Mikayla Dougherty, Monica Dougherty, Brooke Drake and Tiffany Nickel was third in a season best time of 11:06.67.
