---- — Selecting from the best Indiana has to offer, the City Securities Hall of Fame Classic tournament is the most prestigious in-season tournament in the state and has included the best teams, players, coaches and fans of Indiana high school girl’s basketball for 29 years.
Played each December, the four team event has been hosted at the world’s largest high school fieldhouse (New Castle - capacity 9,325) since 1990 and has included 16 teams that have gone on to capture the state championship in that season. In the past 11 seasons alone, nine teams that have participated in this tournament have gone on to win the state championship.
The Lady Lions will return to New Castle to compete again this season. Make plans to catch the Lady Lions in action on Friday, Dec. 27, at the New Castle Fieldhouse.
The Bedford North Lawrence Lady Stars are coached by Damon Bailey. Many will recall Bailey rose to national prominence after being recruited by Indiana coach Bob Knight as an eighth grader. He went on to become Indiana’s all-time high school leading scorer and would earn All-America honors playing for the Indiana Hoosiers.
